Wells Fargo created a project to move process control for a very important batch update from Perl to an Autosys managed system. The database was used internally by all of Wells Fargo collections people. The potential impact created a very high pressure, high stress environment.

I was hired as a Perl/Autosys consultant and soon became the principle Autosys consultant. The project was the most demanding and rewarding of my career. Our small team of 3 converted thousands of lines of Perl code into more than 700 Autosys jobs. After 8 months of long hours the project finished successfully, on time, on budget with no downtime and no business cycle interruption.

Skills utilized: ksh scripting, Perl Development, sqlplus and Autosys R11 development in an Oracle 10g/IBM Aix 6.1 environment.

IT Engineer

McGraw Hill Global Operations and Infrastructure

June 2010– Dec 2010

McGraw Hill in Centennial Colorado manages several large Oracle Database Systems. Daily updates were managed by Autosys on a large network of Solaris Unix and Red Hat Linux servers.

In my consulting role at at McGraw-Hill I assisted in a major system upgrade from Solaris 5.8 to 5.10 and a transition to several new and faster servers. The project required planning and countless changes to thousands of Autosys processes running on more than 20 servers. Our small team of 4 was able to implement all of the changes in just one weekend with minimal downtime. Our update resulted in a noticeable increase in speed and capacity to countless critical processes.
