Introduced product lines to customers and assisted in developing specifications based on customer needs in the areas of steel products castings forgings stampings heat treating equipment. Securing and expediting orders was also included.

1974-1979 Project Engineer Brassette Engineering Lake Charles LA

Responsibilities with this firm included detailed engineering design as well as overall project management of engineering projects. Specific technical areas include process piping systems machine design pneumatic and hydraulic systems pollution control systems Involvement was from inception through completion and start-up.

1979-1981 Project Manager/Co-Owner Southland Engineers Lake Charles LA

I was co-owner and co-founder of this corporation. Responsibilities with this firm included detailed engineering design as well as overall project management of engineering projects. Specific technical areas include process piping systems machine design pneumatic and hydraulic systems pollution control systems. Additionally experience includes HVAC Systems (commercial and industrial) as well as major plant and equipment maintenance in the petrochemical and plastics industry. Project involvement was from inception through completion and start-up.

1981-1985 Project Engineer Boise Cascade Corporation DeRidder LA

My responsibility as a project engineer for this company were primarily in the execution of the capital spending plan for specific areas of the mill. Execution of the capital plan and preparation and yearly revision of the plan was a major effort. Preparation of the plan required close communication with both operations and maintenance. A detailed scope and cost estimate were required for each project in order to request funding. Upon approval detailed engineering was completed followed by construction and start up. Primary responsibility was to manage the projects as the majority of the engineering was contracted due to the magnitude and quantity of work.

Specific areas of responsibility were the paper machine area and the mechanical pulping are. The paper machine area consists of one (1) liner board machine and two (2) newsprint machines. The mechanical pulping area consists of a ground wood mill and a thermo-mechanical pulping mill. Several projects in the power and recovery area were also executed. Responsibility also included all corrosive chemicals used in the mill. Working with operations and maintenance to solve and design out recurring problems is also included here.

1985-2006 Asset Engineer/Maintenance Leader IV Scott Paper/Kimberly-Clark

Initial position with the company was Area Service Engineer for the Converting units in the Single-ply Product System. In this capacity I worked with operations and maintenance to resolve operational maintenance system and equipment related issues. Designing out recurring issues was the primary responsibility as well as optimizing grade changes and maintenance outages. Planning managing and executing the capital plan for the area was also in the functional role. Directing an in-house consultant for minor capital work as well as working with corporate engineering on major capital work also was in the area of responsibility.

The corporation changed the management system from a vertical to a horizontal system. In the Asset Team configuration I was the Asset Engineer. Areas of responsibility included equipment upgrades asset optimization maintenance planning and product development potential. The capital plan for the unit was also included.

In 1995 Kimberly-Clark acquired Scott Paper Company. Responibilities here included the former Asset Engineer role as well as maintenance planning. The corporation initiated the SAP system in which I played a significant role in development and implementation. Project and maintenance outage planning were part of the functional responsibility as well a managing the maintenance costs. Microsoft Project was thoroughly utilized in the planning process as well as SAP.

Specific areas of technical experience include all equipment in the tissue converting process (winders wrappers case packers conveying systems etc.) pneumatic and hydraulic systems product flow design material handling pneumatic conveying systems compressed air systems preventative maintenance systems (condition and time based). I was also responsible for several machine upgrades which contributed to the overall performance of the operation. Several courses on personal interaction are also in the skill base.

My most recent assignment was to upgrade the Bill of Materials for the converting operation in the SAP system.

2007-Present Georgia-Pacific

Initial assignment was AAL (Asset Availability Leader) involving analyzing maintenance requirements based on downtime issues. Worked as a Maintenance Planner identifying maintenance requirements and planning for scheduled outages. Assigned the role of Maintenance Crew Leader assigning scheduled and unscheduled maintenance work to mechanics and coordinating maintenance outages. I also had involvement in correcting issues in the stores system. Current role is Reliability Engineer generating RCA s (Root Cause Analysis) to resolve repetitive issues utilizing both the 5-Why and PROACT processes. A considerable amount of time has been spent troubleshooting equipment and teaching converting equipment set up and maintenance. Have also been involved with precision maintenance including alignment and bearing installation.
