I am an outgoing, friendly and dedicated person who has an ambition to succeed in any given environment. I have significant amount of experience in diplomacy, teaching and translating. I always seek to upgrade and improve my skills at any job I do. I have a record of good relations with my colleagues and my superiors. I am currently seeking for a position in which I can develop while doing the best at the job I am applying to.

Freelance translator (Feb 2012 – March 2012)

Joint Law Office - Bojana Marcelan, Zrinka Kljajic and Andreja Vincek, Varazdin, Croatia

The job consisted of translation of legal documents in the field of copyright (English into Croatian).

Faculty of Organization and Informatics, Varazdin, Croatia (2003 – 2008)

Through a longer period I was hired as a freelance translator. I translated a number of academic articles in the field of business ethics, information and technology, mathematics from English into Croatian language. I was part of the team working on the translation of the faculty curriculum from Croatian into English. I also participated in the work of the Office for International Relations, both as a logistical support and as a translator and interpreter for the exchange students.

Desk Officer for Bosnia and Herzegovina (Jan 2010 – Sep 2011)

Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Zagreb, Croatia

My job included drafting policy analysis, fact sheets, as well as doing weekly news reports on the political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. I was also in charge of maintaining daily diplomatic correspondence, as well as taking notes at a number of high-level meetings both at the Ministry and other government institutions. Most notably I was the official note taker at the first official visit of Serbian president to Croatia in November 2010. As part of a larger team, I worked on the Strategy of the Republic of Croatia towards Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina which was adopted by the Croatian government in May 2011. In December 2010 I was monitoring Kosovo Elections, as a part of Diplomatic Observation team. The high intensity of this job made me very competent at multi tasking, meeting tight deadlines and coordinating tasks between different government institutions. It also greatly increased my organizing, analytical, research, methodology, writing and presentation skills.

Proofreader and Translator

My work in the Independent Service for Translation in the field of European Integration consisted of proofreading English translations of Croatian legislation, as well as coordinate work with the official Ministry translators.

Teacher of English, French and Croatian languages (Sep 2004 – Sep 2008)

I was teaching English, French and Croatian as second languages to adult learners. Most of my courses were held in-company, and were tailored to meet the needs of business communication for the participants of the courses. Another part of my work was being a mentor at the school, organizing weekly staff meetings aimed at improving teaching quality as well as course materials for the students. This work developed my teaching and interpersonal skills, ability to motivate discussions and to encourage class participation. It also immensely boosted my confidence because I could see tangible results of my work, and improvement in students’ language skills.
