Coordinating development work on 4 audio/navigation systems across 3 different vehicle lines. Received 2011 J D Power award for “Best Customer Satisfaction Rating”, for Navigation systems on the Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300 Platforms.

• Driving the standardization of several software issue resolution and specification management processes resulting in reduced turnaround time for prototype development by 25%.

Product Design Engineer (Contract)

• Responsible for the design, development and specifying the requirements to launch the next generation audio systems for 2 major vehicle lines. Compiled the product requirements and system specifications for these audio systems in the DOORS database.

• Actively interfaced with the Product and Interior Design Group, and assisted in overall HMI development of the product by coordinating a number of customer clinics and feedback workshops for next gen radios. Incorporated “Voice of Customer” study results into the feature design of these products at a very early design stage, and these features comprise 60% of the current feature set that the radio offers.

• Performed Market research and bench marking of various OEM audio products and prepared comparative analysis charts to help perk up the next generation product specifications.

• Coordinated the RFQ process for sourcing of the next generation of head unit business to multiple automotive suppliers.

• Attended all the program/technical reviews with various suppliers as part of the pre-sourcing process. Drove the preparation of a PUGH Score Matrix on basis of timeline management, pricing, company profile and implementation, which assisted in ranking of the contenders and selection of the appropriate supplier.

Product Release Engineer (Contract)

• Led design and development of CAN and J1850 audio subsystems for in-vehicle entertainment along with pro active warranty tracking and field performance tracking.

• Initiated and supported software as well as hardware changes to ensure efficient performance leading to MCM cost reductions of $3 Million for the company.

• Released audio radio head units with integrated features such as Navigation systems, DVD entertainment, Multiple CD changers and Hands Free Modules.

• Worked in a team of 7, including the R & D team of ERL, and designed an automatic Frequency Synthesized Tuner with a built in Demodulator fabricated on the tuner chassis.
