Network Engineer (2004 – Present)

I am contracted to U.S. Customs as a part of the U.S. Visit program. I am responsible for 14 sites throughout the Gulf Region. Through travel I have worked at many different types of CBP site to gain experience in the U.S. Customs network. I enjoy challenges, working through a problem and teamwork. My day to day duties consist of frontline maintenance of 5 file servers, patching and maintenance for more than 155 workstations and users. I perform user maintenance, (both Active Directory and Netware). I am responsible for the resolution of e-mail problems, printer issues, blackberry, scanner or card reader problems. My duties also include the resolution of mainframe problems for users.

 I assisted at Champlain, New York border crossing assisted with local duties.

 San Juan Airport, San Juan Cruise Ship Terminal assisted with resolving issues related to recent Port Consolidation.

 Little Rock Port Office, installed new machines, laptop and performed local support

 Pascagoula Port Office, performed local support and installed new machines

 New Orleans Custom House performed several projects here including clean up from Hurricane Katrina and laptop upgrades

 New Orleans Coffee Drive, upgraded laptops and installed new machines

Senior Network Engineer (2001 – Present)

Contracted to MATCU (credit union) to serve as Onsite Manager and work closely with MATCU IT on major projects. Managed Network Administration team, inventory, and WAN (44MB ATM Cloud with 14 sites), including installation on servers, backups, patches, hardware, and connectivity issues. Coordinated directly with IT Manager to keep network, WAN, and helpdesk running. Worked closely with MATCU’s vendors. Provided quick response to Helpdesk calls. Oversaw inventory and maintenance of over 300 machines and printers. Managed projects: E-mail conversion; Disaster Recovery installation of ISDN modems in Cisco routers; updated ATM routers and switches; installed Windows 2000 credit union-wide; and installed several software packages for 14 Branches.

► Met regularly with MATCU vendors to coordinate software upgrades, and installations or other WAN-wide projects.

Senior Network Engineer (2000)

Designed, installed, and supported Novell and NT Networks. Clients included law firms, nonprofits, and tech companies. Provided technical support for customer PC problems. Installed routers for WANs and LANs; and installed Citrix Servers and set up users. Setup routers for businesses to connect to Internet, and setup virus software. Outsourced to Methodist Hospital Central IT department. Serviced 10 satellite sites, and handled all day-to-day problems, including PC, modem, ISDN, and printer.
