• Ensured clinics followed policies and procedures for Institutional Review Board (IRB) and OSHA, meeting with Northwestern’s IRB representative on regular basis.
• Served as resource for nursing staff and physicians, drawing on extensive exposure and expertise to melanoma to recognize emergent atypical scenarios and call for immediate action.
• Provided counseling to patients, many of whom were young women frightened by cancer diagnosis; explained protocols, genetic studies, risk factors for recurrence, and advisability of pregnancy.
