For my senior design project, I built a piezoelectric charger. Basically, piezoelectricity is an energy harvester which means it gathers energy from external solar sources. Once pressure is applied to a piezoelectric object, it creates a charge due to both the positive and negative ions deform the object. We basically applied this concept to charging a phone battery and four double A rechargeable batteries using a piezoelectric transducer in order to fully charge them.
