PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

MAGMA DESIGN AUTOMATION PVT. INDIA LTD., BANGLORE Since June’2011

Associate Application Engineer

Designed and optimized OpAmps and Band gap circuits using the equation derived from the small signal models of the circuit for the desired specifications (e.g. Gain, Bandwidth, UGB etc.).

Designed a band gap reference circuit for Toshiba using the provided schematic and specification.

Characterized the circuits like OpAmps, Band gap references and LDO’s for the tsmc 48nm technology and Fujitsu.

Worked on improving the performance of the existing flex cells for the OpAms and Band gap reference circuits by improving the existing equations to improve the performance and predictability of soft macros.

Conducted training for the whole design flow in TitanADX.

M Tech Thesis Paper

Title High Frequency Continuous-Time Active Filter Design

Advisors Dr. Animesh Biswas, Dr. Kumar Vaibhav Srivastava

Duration Aug’ 09 – May 10

Role Studied different types of integrated filters and their performance trade-offs. Worked on the trade-offs

and existing methodologies in design of Operational Tran conductance Amplifier (OTA) used in Gm-C

Filter Design. Designed the following modules

Operational Trans-conductor Amplifier (OTA) with gain of 43dB, UGB of 2GHz and phase margin of 86 .

Very High Frequency Highly Linear Low Pass Gm-C Filter for HDD application with cut-off frequency of 1.533 GHz in IHP SiGe BiCMOS SG25H1 node.

Band Pass Gm-C Filter with centre frequency 600 MHz and Pass band of 500MHz.

High Pass Gm-C Filter with pass band starting from 10 MHZ.

Academic Project & Term Papers

Title An 8-bit ALU Design

Duration Jan’09-Apr’09

Description Custom design of an 8 bit ALU which implements addition, subtraction, multiplication, shifting,

increment, decrement and logical operations. Design Specification was Total power dissipation of

2.717µWatt.Designed using Mentor Graphics at 0.18µm technology. Full layout of the ALU was

designed

Title Design of Cascode Operational Amplifier with High Gain and High PSRR

Duration Aug’08-Nov’08

Description Complete hand analysis of design was done to establish the operating point (Bias voltages and

currents) to drive all transistors to saturation. Design Specification included Gain of 70dB,Unity Gain

Bandwidth of 41.2MHz, Power Dissipation- 79.8478µ Watts, Phase Margin-55, CMRR-40dB, PSRR (VDD)-

62dB, PSRR (VSS)- 58dB

Title Corner Effects in FinFETs and its Reduction

Duration Aug’08-Nov’08

Description The Corner Effect in FinFET transistor was investigated in this course paper. It has been shown that

the corner effect in small size FinFETs for typical device parameters does not lead to a leakage

current and hence does not deteriorate the FinFET transistor performance. In fact reverse corner

effect observed in FinFET’s which results in the depletion of leakage current in the corners.

Title Lateral Control of an Aircraft

Duration Jan’06-Jun-06

Description The project was a study of the lateral motion of an air plane. It included deriving the transfer

function of the lateral motion of the airplane from its block diagram and studying its performance

using MATLAB functions. The analysis was based on the study of root locus plot and bode plots. It also

included an overview of the dynamics of an airplane to understand the lateral and longitudinal motion

of an aircraft. Tool Used: MATLAB 6.1
