Objective

I have over 15 years of forklift experience. I am qualified in the shipping of hazardous materials. I look forward to using my skill set and expertise to help a company achieve its goals.

Work Experience

Foreign Trade Export - Houston TX

April, 2002 - February, 2012

Shipping Clerk

My job duties included shipping of hazardous and non-hazardous materials. I also had the responsibility of taking pictures and inspecting each load we shipped. I operated a heavy capacity forklift that could pick up a maximum of 50,000 lbs. I loaded twenty and forty feet containers with bulk bags, boxes and 55 gallon drums and after they were loaded I would load the containers on a chassis. The loaded containers could weigh as much as 50,000 lbs. I also loaded other materials weighing as much as 50,000 pounds on flatbed trailers. I was also responsible for dispatching trucks when we shipped oil rigs overseas, this included figuring out how many trucks were required and to make sure the load was legal. If the load was overweight, to tall or to wide I would have to secure a permit and a police escort if necessary. I was also in charge of labeling all hazardous loads. I have D.O.T. and international training in labeling and placarding hazardous materials. I was also responsible for ordering materials for the shipping department. On occasion I would be in charge of a crew of 5 workers to do work offsite. I am forklift certified and have been operating a forklift for over 15 years. When shipping rigs I would have to coordinate with other managers to insure the project will be completed on time. I had to accurately measure the rig pieces which could be as long as 50 feet, wide as 16 feet and tall as 20 feet. The measurements had to be accurate for the shipmaster to safely and properly load the ship. I also packed crates and closed large skids. I can use a nail gun and strapping tools. I used the 5 ton crane to move material and prepare them for shipping, this included properly securing materials to a skid, pallet or box. I have my TWIC card and can enter any port in Houston.
