Provided long-term consulting services to several Chicago area motorcycle businesses, at both dealership and after-market levels. Made recommendations that included restructuring department work spaces, implementing new policies and practices, and training staff on those new procedures. Of particular value to owners was a product inventory review. By creating new inventory control policies and setting up an identification process for multiple off-site warehouses, staff was more efficient when filling orders, increasing sales and profitability. Provided follow-up consultation to fine-tune procedures, clarify directions to staff and provide any additional training.

3D Cycle Works Park Ridge, Illinois

Owner 1997 to 1999

Owned and operated an after-market Harley Davidson retail and service store. Carried large selection of accessories, sold used motorcycles and managed a busy service department, staffed by 3 mechanics. Specialized in custom work, and were frequently sought out for one-of-a-kind paint work done by an artist who limited his availability in the Chicago area to this store. The work was widely regarded as among the highest quality available.

Lombard Kawasaki-Suzuki Lombard, Illinois

Was involved at ground level in the purchase and relocation of this business. Majority owner was outside the industry and relied greatly on my knowledge and experience for design of new building, staffing and training of all departments. Acted as General Manager, overseeing sales, parts and accessories and service department. Responsible for staff hiring, termination, performance evaluations and salary structure.

Professional Racer

1978 to 1994

Professional road racing career in AMA Superbike racing, and national level endurance racing on top ranked teams, including Team Hammer (now Team M4 Emgo Suzuki). This almost 20 year period of time also includes some WERA National #1 plates.
