Duties: Worked as the on-site representative agent of the Engineering company at multiple job sites; contracted by the construction superintendent to act as his consultant to review the contractor’s work and interpret the design documents; act as the liaison on construction sites with the responsibility of keeping the office personnel informed of project activities; interacted directly with the contractors in the field and the communications conduit to the engineer’s office personnel; helped to interpret the intent of plans and specifications; assisted in providing information to contractors regarding intent on contract drawings; assist the engineers in obtaining additional details or information when required for proper construction of a project; reported to engineers when clarifications and interpretations of the contract documents were needed;
Conducted on site observations of contractors work in progress to assist the engineers in determining if work was proceeding in accordance with the intent of contract documents and advised engineers of specific parts of work that were observed to need correction or rejected or required special evaluation, inspection or approval; verified that tests, equipment, and systems start-ups and operating and maintenance training are conducted in presence of appropriate owner’s personnel and that adequate records were maintained by contractors; observe, record, and report to engineers appropriate details relative to the test procedures and the system start-ups; maintain records for use in preparing final project documentation including marked-up record drawings, job sketches, photographs, etc.; furnished original set of all project documentation to engineers upon completion of projects.
