SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

Self motivated, mission oriented former US Marine Senior SNCO with recent experience operating in non-permissive and permissive environments (multi-national operations) as an Infantryman, Scout Sniper and C-IED Intelligence analyst, advisor, trainer and mentor. Subject Matter Expertise in Counter IED Attack the Network and Defeat the Device techniques through tactical and analytical means. Extensive knowledge and practical expertise in anti-terrorism, Counter Insurgency, infantry weapons (US & Foreign) and tactics skill sets to include being a certified lethal and non-lethal weapons instructor. Computer literate with office automation products, techniques and applications. Currently hold an active TOP SECRET security clearance.

RECENT EXPERIENCE

2010 - Present. MPRI, JIEDDO Counter IED Device Defeat SME Simulations Trainer / Analyst, Germany

C-IED Device Defeat Subject Matter Expert for Virtual Battle Space 2 simulation training. Make coordination with the unit to be trained to determine their specific needs, their mission, what their AO is going to be, what their training goals are as well as their unit capabilities. After this information is obtained I then access the SIPR network and collect Intelligence and battlefield data that relates to the units exact situation and then build custom training scenarios in VBS2. The goal is to build a simulation that is tailored to the unit so training is up to date and relevant. After all coordination is complete and the unit arrives for training they are first instructed on using the VBS2 system, once this is done the simulation training commences. Depending on the unit’s level of experience and specific requests C-IED periods of instruction are provided to enhance the training event. The full spectrum of C-IED classes are offered including all JIEDDO & CENTCOM C-IED principles, individual and collective tasks. Upon successfully achieving their training goals and conducting AARs the unit then moves to the C-IED live fire training lanes and their next level of C-IED training. Take away packages are also provided to include many C-IED resources and important links.

2009 – 2009. Alatec, Inc., Senior Counter IED Analyst TOOLS Trainer, Newport News, VA

Assigned to the Joint Training Counter IED Operations Integration Center (JTCOIC) as a senior military COIC Analyst TOOLs Trainer. Responsible for the training of US troops deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan in the Analyst Tools, the reach back capabilities of the Counter IED Operation Integration Center (COIC) and how to request support. I mentored and trained units how to fill intelligence gaps in their effort to effectively defeat IED networks in their Areas of Operation. Upon completion of training the units will be able to save time in their intelligence gathering, get incredible situational awareness in their AO, Plan missions, do more effective After Action Reporting and reduce enemy IED network capabilities through comprehensive operational products.

2008 – 2008. RONCO Inc., Team Leader C-IED Advisor / Trainer and SME to NATO, Regional Commands throughout Afghanistan

Responsible for C-IED training, mounted and dismounted, to NATO forces throughout Afghanistan and advising senior NATO staff and subordinates on enemy IED TTPs. Topics covered are IED identification and components, enemy and friendly TTPs, emerging threats, route clearance, mine threats, incident management and exploitation. Classes are taught using PowerPoint presentation and followed up with practical exercises in a field environment. I was responsible for setting up classroom media devices, setting up training lanes in the field and for the safety of students while on the training lanes. I was responsible for collecting information on current IED attacks and incorporating relevant information into classes providing the most up to date relevant information concerning IEDs and enemy TTP’s. I Developed a C-IED Interdiction plan for ISAF HQ prior to leaving the project to incorporate a practical offensive option for NATO Commanders.

2008 – 2008. USMC, Information Operations (IO) Chief (GySgt E-7), Short Term Military Orders, III MEF G-3 Force Fires Section, Okinawa Japan & Baran, Korea

Joined III MEF Force Fires section as the Information Operations Chief in preparation for Operation UFG-08 in Korea. My focus was being the IO mentor for the ROK Marines and I instructed them how to integrate the Information Operations core capabilities with the kinetic fires section, on target selection and methods as well as prepared them for the Target Coordination Board that met each night during the operation. I also went into detail on making sure that the IO Plan aligned with the commander’s intent and guidance.

2008 – 2008. MPRI, Inc., New Equipment Training Team Instructor / Mentor for the Iraqi Army, Besmaya Range Complex, Eastern Iraq

Worked as a member of the M-16 / M-4 Tactical Training Team that trained the Iraqi Army on their new weapon system, the M-16A4 and M-4 Rifles which is replacing the AK-47 currently being phased out. Periods of Instruction include weapon components and characteristics, disassembly, assembly, proper maintenance, marksmanship fundamentals, down range feedback, site adjustments followed by zeroing and qualification with their new weapons. I also provided a Train the Trainer course that covered the same marksmanship periods of instruction as well as teaching range operations to unit NCOs so they can conduct training to their units upon course completion. I was responsible for range maintenance, set up, ammunition orders and the safety of instructors and soldiers during live fire. An additional duty was assisting other MPRI training sections on tactics training such as military operations in urban terrain, entry control point, battle drills, close quarters marksmanship and Russian weapons training for a small number of units that will not receive the new M16A4 or M-4.

2007 – 2008. PAE Group / Lockheed Martin, Embedded Infantry Company Mentor for Armed Forces of Liberia, Security Sector Reform Project, Liberia, West Africa

Embed with, observed, and mentored B Company of the new Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL). US Army doctrine and the ARTEP for tactical training and evaluation were used. I wrote periods of instruction (POI), developed PowerPoint presentations, and taught classes to the AFL using classroom and platform instruction techniques as well as training in a field environment for conducting practical application training such as battle drills to standard. Developed leaders (NCOs and Officers) and provided train the trainer programs and mentored these leaders during all phases of their training. Monitored troops while on missions, supervised, advised and taught advanced infantry skills up to the Infantry Company level. Conducted and supervised physical training with the AFL troops and provided marksmanship training for all of the weapons in their inventory.

2006 – 2007. Global Risk Strategies Group, LTD, Guard Force / C-IED Instructor / ERT Member, United States Embassy, Kabul, Afghanistan

Manned and then supervised various armed security points throughout the US Embassy complex in Kabul. Operated Explosives Itemizer and X-Ray machine at the Embassy entry control point as well as background checks for badge issue. Provide emergency reaction response as needed as well as provide route security to guard force members moving from housing area to the worksite and back. Close Quarters Battle (CQB) Instructor to ERT members during on going training periods as well as lead instructor for the entire Guard Force on C-IED and Convoy Operations.

2005 – 2006. MPRI, Inc., C-IED, MOUT, CQM, CQB, Ambush and Interdiction Instructor, Kuwait Observer Controller Team, Kuwait

Responsible for the proper instruction of fundamentals and principles of MOUT, CQM, CQB, and Hunter/Killer Team IED Interdiction Ambush Techniques. Methods of instruction included platform and classroom lecture as well as PowerPoint presentation. Responsible for the safety of troops and instructors during live fire exercises. Conducted AARs upon completion of each scenario. Taught train the trainer courses in these same skill sets then observed and certified new instructors. Participated in on-going cross training with the other MPRI instructor groups to include Machinegun, Checkpoint, and Entry Control Point Courses. I was also designated as one of three instructors from my team who trained coalition troops from the Republic of Georgia in the same skill sets working through interpreters.

2005 – 2005. USMC, Team Leader Scout Sniper Platoon, 3rd BN 25th Marines, Anbar Province, Iraq

Responsible for leading and tactical training of sniper team operating in high threat, non-permissive environments. Conducted team pre-combat checks, inspections and coordinated all aspects of scout sniper missions, from pre-operational planning cell activities, to extract. Provided accurate, real-time reconnaissance and surveillance to unit commanders, leading to the elimination/detainment of Anti Coalition Forces. Direct action (short and long-range) engagements resulted in the elimination of enemy personnel in support of major offensives and independent missions. Lead forty one independent team combat missions in urban and desert environments and participated in 5 major offensive operations. Conducted pre-operational briefings and post mission debriefings for senior officers and intelligence personnel.

2004 – 2004. USMC, Special Operations Training Group Instructor, SOTG, Camp LeJeune, NC

Served as a Primary Instructor for Non-Lethal Weapons and Tactics, CQB, Improvised Explosive Devices / Enemy TTPs, Dismounted and Mounted Operations. Responsible for researching and developing course material, preparing PowerPoint presentations, setting up training schedules, and was responsible for safety during training evolutions which included live fire ranges, employment of Pepper Spray, and hand-to-hand training. Instructed class sizes from 20 to 200 plus personnel.

2003 – 2004. USMC, Team Leader, Joint Special Operations Detachment Convoy Security Team, Coalition Provisional Authority, Baghdad Province, Iraq

Responsible for the proper employment, training and safety of a five-man team operating in high threat, non permissive environments. Provided security for Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) convoys transporting large quantities of weapons, ammunition, sensitive documents and payroll to the many Forward Operating Bases in the Sunni Triangle. Also worked PSD for High Ranking Coalition Officers and CPA Personnel. Additional duties included operating in hunter/killer teams eliminating threats who attacked convoys on MSRs in our AO as well as providing force protection at the Baghdad Recruiting Center during new recruit processing.

2002 – 2003. USMC, Primary Marksmanship Instructor, Weapons Training Battalion, Camp LeJeune, NC

Responsible for sustainment marksmanship training of the M-16, M-4, and M-9 for Marine Corps Base Marines which included classroom and firing range instruction. I prepared and developed PowerPoint presentations for my classes and trained over 700 Marines during my time at Weapons Training Battalion. Oversaw the safety of students during live fire ranges, coached Marines while on the firing line and participated in range operations during firing. I coordinated National Rifle Association shooting matches on base as well as shooting matches in other states for Marines on the shooting team.

2001 – 2001. USMC, Task Force Senior Enlisted Representative, Task Force Sentinel, Ground Zero, New York, NY

Served as Task Force Sentinel's Senior Enlisted. My job was to coordinate getting, issuing, and setting up transportation of supplies needed for the security and rescue operations at Ground Zero. I identified security gaps and organized perimeter and supply warehouse security between the military and the many federal and state law enforcement agencies working there. Additional duties included transportation and security for high ranking city officials and military officers, site threat assessment and force protection.

1991 – 2001. Owner of Distinctive Painting, Inc, Chappaqua, New York

I started a residential and commercial painting contracting company out of my house that within 2 years employed 44 painters and administrative staff working out of an office in Westchester County, New York. During my time as sole owner I bid on and won some of the largest painting projects to include new high end home sub-divisions and condominium complexes with price tags exceeding the 1,000,000.00 mark. I planned and ordered material for these projects, coordinated with my project managers and personally checked on each job to ensure things were running smoothly and according to plan. I was honored as The New York State Painting Contractor of the Year and was also elected President of the New York State Painting & Decorating Contractors of America in Westchester County, New York.

1985 – 1991. USMC, 3rd Bn 12th Marines in Okinawa Japan & the Basic School in Quantico Virginia.

Served as a Fire Directional Control Man and Forward Observer for an Artillery battalion. I served in the operation to evacuate Marcos from the Philippines and was meritoriously promoted to Corporal during this time. I was transferred to Quantico, VA where I taught fire direction and call for fire to new Marine Officers as well as acted as a Combat Instructor during field operations during their training. I deployed to the Middle East for Operation Desert Storm and served as a Fire Direction Control Man during the war.
