WORK EXPERIENCE

QA Engineer

Meru Networks Inc., Sunnyvale, CA (March 2008 – till now)

Meru Networks, Inc. (Meru) provides a virtualized wireless local area network (LAN) solution. The Company enables enterprises to migrate their applications from wired networks to wireless networks, and become what it refers to as All-Wireless Enterprises.

Accomplishments:

Established and maintained high quality test procedures and methods to be used in present and future software and hardware testing and development that comply with the company quality standards and deliverable.

Interacted with outsourced team based in India and USA on a daily basis to explain requirement and keep track of development and testing.

Did complete functional, load and acceptance testing in Meru facility in large scale setup with huge traffic for WIPS product. Gave demo and training to employees and customers. Helped support team to debug and fix issues in customer setup.

Evaluated various tools and competitive products to give better inputs for WIPS product. Did market research to gather inputs about new signatures to enhance Meru's WIPS signature database.

Brought the WIPS project development to a logical end to make it enterprise ready.

Worked on Meru's Network Management product for helping PM team for product requirement, testing, test bed design. Also did hardware testing to test Hard disk, RAM, CF card durability and robustness. Interacted with India Dev. and QA team on a daily basis for requirement discussion and testing.

Helped support team to debug customer issues and reproducing them in local setup and fixing them.

Did research to find varius testing tools (bonnie++, memtest) to use them for functional and stress testing. Wrote small shell scripts to test hard disk by doing continuous read/write operation. Wrote scripts to reboot system continuously for more than 1000 times and doing continuous upgrades to check database and hardware durability.

Worked with outsourced Dev. team to development, testing of PCI compliance product.

Did complete testing for Meru's guest access management (BYOD) product. Worked with UK team for testing.

Helped Manufacturing Test Engineering team for sanity testing of software and hardware.

Team Lead, Product Verification

AirTight® Networks Inc., Mountain View, CA (Nov. 2003 – Jan 2008)

AirTight Networks has currently placed itself in a competitive position primarily dealing with securing Enterprise network from wireless threats. Some examples of major wireless threats are a Rogue AP (non-policy compliant), External AP, Honey Pot AP, DoS attacks, MAC spoofing & many more.

Accomplishments:

worked in very early stage of company to test the prototype of WIPS product and give demo in different industries

Developed test strategy for QA of WIPS Enterprise, Wi-Fi network planning, WIPS SOHO and Compliance products.

Worked with product management team to understand the requirement and prepare test plan accordingly.

Took a major role in hiring people to form QA team for different projects.

Visited customer site (CELCOM, Malaysia) to deploy, and troubleshoot WIPS network and give training to employees for WIPS and WLAN.

Interacted with OEM vendors (HP, SIEMENS, COLUBRIS) to gather requirement and develop test plan and test the interoperability with vendor platform.

Accomplishments:

Developed tool with JSP, Linux and PostrreSQL database to store and analyze wireless packet details after capturing them through Airopeek.

Did research for long distance wireless LAN deployment.

Designed and established long distance Wi-Fi links to provide VOIP and internet service in rural areas.

Did experiment with different type of antennas to study Fresnel zone impact while installing them on towers for Wi-Fi links and to analyze path loss and radiation pattern using Network Analyzer and other devices in Electrical Engineering Lab. in IIT Kanpur.
