2008 Citation Oil & Gas, Houston, TX
Reservoir Engineering Intern
• Developed a $5.3 Million waterflood expansion plan for a field in southern Oklahoma that was approved by a capital allocation committee
• Performed literature search on complex field history of steeply dipping multilayered reservoir and developed pertinent data book for future engineers
• Reconfigured a VBA macro so that injection profiles could be easily converted and loaded into Schlumberger Oilfield Manager
• Wrote an instruction manual for the injection profile macro for use by employees
• Loaded injection profiles, formation tops, and wellbore schematics into OFM
• Calculated reserves added by water injection by way of constructing forecasts at well level
• Performed allocations of injection at sand specific levels and developed floodfront maps using Petra and Radial Plan software
• Made a key discovery that was causing significant reserve loss and identified need for new pattern
• Developed production forecasts and rough economics based on early cost estimates
• Presented independently to management, a summary of the projects that my internship encompassed
• Worked extensively with Schlumberger OFM, Petra, Radial Plan, and Excel
