1ST BANK YUMA, Yuma, AZ 05/01 – Present

Provided executive leadership in the creation of a de-novo bank opened for business September 4, 2001.

Recruited and hired experienced, capable senior management team. Have long standing respectful and productive rapport with federal and state regulators, local business leaders, and colleagues. Very active in community affairs to attract institutional support for the bank’s growth strategies. Lead the adjustments to the bank’s operating strategies as economic conditions dictate. Spearheaded the efforts to drive the bank’s corporate culture to foster an environment of operational, customer service, financial and administrative excellence. Established a compelling banking model resulting in critical success:

• Grew assets from $-0- to $138 million in 9 years

• Grew deposits from $-0- to $122 million in 9 years

• Develop banking relationships and underwrite credit for major commercial customers of the Bank. Total loan portfolio grown to over $98,000,000 in less than 9 years.

• Purchased 2 branches from Compass bank in 2005 ($27 million acquisition)

FIRST COUNTRY BANK 12/99 – 05/01

President/CEO

CEO of a new de-novo bank in organization. Responsible for putting together the regulatory application to the FDIC and Arizona State Bank Department, establish policy and procedures, negotiate contracts with vendors, hire key management positions. Able to bring the bank through the regulatory application process to approval, however, the organizers were unable to raise the required capital, therefore, the project was shut down.

FRONTIER STATE BANK 11/94 – 12/99

Frontier State Bank was a troubled bank with asset quality problems, significant management deficiencies, internal control problems and compliance issues. I was hired to turn the bank around and correct the deficiencies.

CEO of $91MM Bank with 6 Branches, $67MM in loan volume. Responsible for long term strategic direction and planning and the day to day operations. Bank growth averaged 20% during my last 3 years at the bank. Major accomplishments include the following:

• Reorganized Bank, set Direction, Policies, and Procedures, and made key Hires to lift C&D Order and MOU in place at the time of my arrival.

• Established criteria, acquired, and implemented new client server software, LAN & WAN which supports strategic direction.

• Managed all phases of 3 new branches in high potential communities.

• Centralized Back-Room functions including lending (Commercial, Mortgage & Retail) and all major operational functions.

• Designed and implemented goal driven incentive compensation systems for officers and staff.

• Developed and implemented Strategic Planning and Action Planning process at both Board and Management Level.

FIRST INTERSTATE BANK 03/93 – 11/94

First Interstate Bank was a national diversified financial services company. The company is now merged through acquisition with Wells Fargo Bank.

Relationship Manager/Commercial Loan Officer

Areas of responsibility include, commercial, agricultural, real estate, SBA, & FmHA guaranteed loans. Major accomplishments include the following:

• Completion of the “Exemplary Credit Program” a study in 15 different accounting and credit disciplines.

• Reduction of Document Exceptions from 75% to fewer than 3%.

• Reduction in delinquency percentage from 6.00% to 0%.

• Business development in excess of $5MM new business in 20 months

FIRST SECURITY BANK 04/85 – 03/93

The First Security Bank was an independent community bank in a very small rural farm community. The bank concentrated primarily on agricultural production financing, agribusiness, and small business.

Vice President/Compliance Officer

Areas of responsibility included, commercial, agricultural, real estate, and consumer loans as well as SBA & FmHA guaranteed loans. Handled approximately one third (1/3) of the $18,000,000 commercial loan portfolio which consisted of ag operating lines of credit, direct loans to agribusiness, and retail and service businesses, and commercial and residential real estate. Supervised the consumer lending function of the Bank with a lender and staff and a portfolio balance of approximately $2,000,000.

In addition to my loan duties, I was also the Compliance Officer for three banks, having approximately $125,000,000 in total assets. It was my responsibility to develop and complete the compliance program for all three Banks and supervise the audit function.
