RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
2009-2010 Sheffield Centre for Advanced Magnetic Materials and Devices (SCAMMD)
• Worked under the supervision of Prof MRJ Gibbs and Dr Rene Dost to design a wireless mass sensitive sensor using the magnetic thin film and a cantilever beam for measuring smallest load like attogram and femtogram.
• A number of METGLAS 2605SC thin films were fabricated using different fabrication techniques such as RF sputtering & DC sputtering techniques.
• Studied the change in magnetic properties (magnetisation, saturation field, coercivity, texture, grain size) of METGLAS 2605SC by changing the thickness of METGLAS 2605SC, using various characterization techniques.
• Gained experience in the nanoscience and technology clean room.
LABORATORY SKILLS
• Technical skills:
Experience working with experimental equipment such as Nordiko 2000, Kurt J Lesker, also had experience in depositing organic thin films using spin casting technique.
Experience in characterizing techniques like MOKE (magneto optic kerr effect), MFM (magnetic force microscopy).
Experience working with the LASER’s and optical detection technique.
Experience working in a cleanroom.
• Software skills:
COMSOL for designing and simulation of the cantilever beam.
OOMMF for computation of magnetization of nanoparticle.
COMPUTING SKILLS
• Gained thorough working knowledge on MS office package and also developed programming skills in C, C++ and JAVA.
• Experience with micro magnetic simulation package OOMMF.
WORKING EXPERIENCE
08/10-09/10 Part time student accommodation support assistant at the University of Sheffield.
09/10-11/10 Part time translator for the Talking heads at Sheffield, United Kingdom.
ACTIVITIES AND ACHIVEMENTS
• Participated in various state level technical events and paper presentations where I achieved many accolades.
• Participated in a variety of sports at others schools and won many accolades for my achievements.
• Member of SCAMMD.
• International English Language Testing Score:
Overall Bandwidth Score: 6.0
INTERESTS
