• Electrical Design Engineer – Electrical and mechanical design of solar panel and solar array drawings including layouts, assemblies, installations, schematics, wire lists, wire harnesses and piece parts.

• Work independently as well as in groups to effectively resolve design issues in an effort to meet cost and schedule deadlines.

• Interfaced extensively with manufacturing and provided technical support during assembly phase of panel build and trouble shoot any technical issues in real-time.

• Generated redline documentation for floor personnel to prevent work flow stoppage as well as generated all necessary engineering change paper required to capture changes.

• Supported internal design reviews and held accountable for follow-up on engineering action items.

Boeing Integrated Defense Systems - El Segundo, CA 1985 – 2008

• Senior Electrical Design Engineer - Perform layout studies given various solar cell and substrate sizing possibilities.

• Analyze wire harness requirements, generated panel assembly, harness installation and solar wing layout drawings including electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

• Responsible for designing and routing solar wing wire harnesses and brackets. Assisted manufacturing in wire harness installation by providing shop-aids when required.

• Supervised and mentored design staff of contractors and was responsible for developing and implementing groups CAD standards.

• As a program specific member of the photovoltaic design group, had responsibilities for supporting the manufacturing group in all levels of hardware assembly. As necessary, aided floor technicians in engineering drawing clarification.

• Supported weekly meetings with the Program Office and/or in-house manufacturing team monitoring the status of or participating in small Integrated Process Teams to resolve technical issues (as required).

• Routinely visited outside panel vendor for purposes of analyzing their assembly process flow and assuring that all critical checks were captured and that all “best practice” processes were being utilized.

• Supported the manufacturing group's activities to support on time hardware delivery meeting all schedule deadlines.

• Supported formal and informal design reviews to the Program Office and/or manufacturing such as IDR’s, PDR’s, CDR’s & MRR’s.
