To whom it may concern,
I am very interested in the ChemE or paper science, process engineer, or project engineer positions available in Spokane, WA. I graduated from Washington State University in 2011 with my BS in chemical engineering, and I have been at SVL Analytical since May 2011. At SVL I work in wet chemistry and instrument chemistry.
I think I would be a great fit for any of these positions. At SVL I’ve mastered about 20 different environmental testing analyses. I’ve developed a great work ethic and work well with others and learn quickly. I have also trained others in multiple analyses. This job has given me a strong chemistry background on top of my education. I have experience troubleshooting instruments and developing experiments to determine their optimum operation. In my department, there are also hold time issues with samples, and I often have to change my focus quickly. I have a diverse workload and have developed great multi-tasking skills at SVL as well. I am also responsible for data entry and review, as well as complying with quality controls and due dates. I often have to resolve instrument or software problems and this has also helped develop my problem solving skills. I use multiple software programs to manage data, samples, and control instruments. I have also written SOPs (standard operating procedures) in compliance with methods and quality control.
My education has given me ample training in process control and project engineering, as well as good computer knowledge and programming. Working in an environmental lab has given me a lot of hands on experience with a quality system. I am also educated in statistics, applied chemistry, and engineering economics.
I am confident that I would be a great fit for these positions. I look forward to hearing from you, and I plan to call human resources in about two weeks.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Nicholas Saintz
