I am writing to apply for work. It is my goal to find employment with a fast-paced company that offers the opportunity for challenges in a professional environment. I am presently looking for full time work. I just completed school at Trios Business college. I graduated with a computer networking engineering degree.

For the past 12 years I have worked in the purchasing field, my last job as a purchasing engineer for Hike Metal in Wheatley, Ontario. While employed at Hike Metal, I was responsible for purchasing all the materials required to build government police boats, research vessels for top universities in North America, hover crafts, barges and private ocean-bound yachts. The company also does metal fabrication for various applications (bridges, break walls and aerospace).

As the purchasing engineer, I managed all company procurement contract negotiations. I was responsible for ensuring that sensitive materials were purchased while meeting the high quality, on time delivery and standards required by the purchase order. I also presented cost and budgeting reports to the owner of the company. I managed and supervised accounts payable and receivable, shipping and receiving and stock room inventory. I was the gateway of communication between production manager and work force comprised of all skill trades.

In that position I demonstrated leadership abilities by sharing information about ISO and QS standards with my managers allowing the company to be more cost efficient. I assumed a great deal of responsibility in overseeing a project from beginning to end and was able to strengthen my problem-solving skills by working with engineers and communicating with vendors.

Prior to working for Hike Metal, I was employed by Zatkoff Seals and Packing in Warren, MI as a raw material specialist. In my position there, I gained experience researching raw materials and developing specifications for General Motors, Ford and Chryslers.
