• Supervised 10 Technicians responsible for the reactive and preventative maintenance of 150 molding machines and all support and ancillary equipment.
• Manufacturer of molding machines included Hunter, Nissei, Arburg, Milacron and Haitian. Ancillary equipment included Con-air, Gammaflux, Novatec, DME and Motan.
• Provided technical back up for all production equipment.
• Monitored and recommended changes in ladder logic of Koyo, Omron and Seimens Programmable Logic Controllers
• Created reports and charts tracking labor, troubleshooting, reactive maintenance, preventative maintenance, projects, improvements, training, and safety hours relative to available hours.
• Designed and implemented equipment improvement projects with specific return on investment times that reduced downtime and increased efficiencies.

Maintenance, Facilities and Production Manager
As Maintenance Manager:
• Managed primarily Maintenance Technicians responsible for the reactive and preventative maintenance of 21 molding machines and all support and ancillary equipment. I was directly hands on in resolving most maintenance issues. If the issue could not be resolved after we used all tools and resources available, I would contact the equipment manufacturer for technical support, and would only contact the equipment manufacturer for help as a last resort.
• Manufacturer of molding machines included Arburg, Toshiba, Battenfeld, Impco, Van Dorn, Milacron, Boy, JSW, and HPM. Ancillary equipment included Con-air, Advantage, Sterlco and Novatec.
• Worked hands on for all maintenance related activity, along with 8 technicians, who were my direct reports.
As Production Manager:
• Represented the company to their largest customer (Spectrum Concepts) in all respects. This included, but is not limited to, production and quality of their product and doing so within their pricing model to ensure appropriate margins for my company. I was the direct liaison between Co-Mack and Spectrum for over 2 years. I Held direct reports accountable for all production, quality and maintenance issues relative to this specific product line. I worked closely with Quality Assurance to ensure the product not only met, but exceeded the customer’s high standards.
• In this capacity, I used MRP and other software resources to manage and control inventory levels, material usage and labor to ensure that the pricing of the product was such as to maintain a significant profit margin.
• Implemented training courses for new direct reports and monitored their improvement.
• I was a key member for a team that enabled the company to become ISO 9001 compliant.
Reason for leaving: Company went out of business. Although Co-Mack Technology went out of business, I can offer references from the customer that I represented. They were the recipient of excellent customer service on my part and would communicate that to a potential employer.
1985-1995 Poly-Matrix, Inc. Pittsfield, MA
Maintenance Technician, Lead Maintenance Technician, Process Engineer
• Performed reactive and preventative maintenance on 40 molding machines, all ancillary equipment and all related automation.
• Reduced downtime by completing troubleshooting and repairs in a correct and timely manner.

• Wrote ladder logic programs for PLC’s in home made automation. I was highly skilled in my ability to read and monitor ladder logic programming for troubleshooting purposes, reducing downtime and set-up time.

• Trained junior Technicians in a structured qualification program that covered all production equipment.
Reason for leaving: Relocated to the west coast.
Other Essential Skills
I have planned various and many maintenance activities such as preventative maintenance, acquisition, layout and installation of new equipment, equipment and controller upgrades and modification of existing equipment, without impacting production.
I have hands-on experience in the installation of process equipment, water temperature controllers, chillers, air conditioning components and ventilation, electrical service from transformer to load, using 480VAC, 3 phase power, step-down transformers and rectifiers to generate 220VAC, 110VAC and 24VDC.
I have hands-on experience in the reading, writing, programming and troubleshooting in PLC ladder logic programs.
I have hands-on experience in the installation and setup of a class 10000 ISO 7 clean room in all respects. I installed the necessary electrical, water, compressed air, ventilation and HEPA (high efficiency) and ULPA (ultra low) filtration systems,
I have interfaced with, and worked in accordance with the daily, monthly and quarterly requirements of OSHA, FDA, USDA, and ISO 9001, especially in regards to facilities maintenance.
I have used DataStream, Plant-Star and CMMS maintenance software systems.
I have interfaced with local fire departments to ensure all fire codes were strictly adhered to.
I am currently certified in First Aid/CPR and AED.
