Administrative Assistant Medical

OBJECTIVE

I completed a B.S. in biology hoping to pursue a career in helping people, as well as, broadening my knowledgebase in the medical field. I am currently seeking a job where I can make a difference, in diverse settings, through my interpersonal and science background.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Multi-Specialty Surgical Center- Administrative Assistant Present

I formulate and analyze the work productivity of the medical departments (i.e. the patient care department, nutrition department, specialty surgeries, etc.), in order to deliver the best quality of care to the patients. I follow up on the patients’ treatment plans, as well as data tracking through NexTech.

Department of Public Social Services- Health Care Provider 2005-2011

I was a care giver for disabled patients who required special assistance, in addition to providing ample comfort and care. On a daily basis, I would assist the individual during activities such as: walking, feeding, getting out of bed, bathing, getting dressed, oral hygiene, and grooming. Furthermore, I would routinely monitor the blood pressure, heart rate, and nutrient intake. I also encouraged cognitive thinking, through reading and writing activities, to delay the onset of early Alzheimer's.

Valley Animal Hospital – Receptionist/ Veterinary Assistant 2006

I would greet the owners, obtain the medical history, and purpose for the visit. My responsibilities were to take the temperature/weight, refill medications, remove sutures, sterilize the surgical tools, administer vaccines, and perform venipuncture. I’d also stock and order pet supplies, order lab work, follow-up and make appointments.
