Successfully built and developed large team of IT professionals that also included managing outside expert consultants who assisted with key initiatives on long-term assignments. Directed the development, implementation and follow-up of all new systems and applications for the Bank of Stockton, an acknowledged leader in financial technologies.

Responsibilities included:

 Managed IT Infrastructure Strategic Planning Team, all related IT infrastructure and all IT related audits, which consistently ranked among the highest with the FDIC.

 Disaster Recovery Director/Coordinator for entire bank; successfully managed a bank-wide BC&RS implementation as well as all IT related disaster recovery utilizing the leading west coast hot site RagingWire, the site firm of choice for large financial institutions and technology firms requiring hot site functionality including eBay.

 Managed several Major Core Application conversions, the latest being FISERV CBS IT processing and all required infrastructure. Included formal RFP and the entire selection process for the core application.

 Managed/Implemented the first integration of Image Checking which led to early adoption of CAR/LAR, Power Proof, Image POD technology, leading to the early adoption of the complete image exchange (check 21) with the Federal Reserve and corresponding banks.

 Managed implementation and enhancements of all e-commerce applications (PFM’s Microsoft Money/Quicken/QuickBooks, Corillian’s retail Voyager, Mobil Banking with Clair-Mail, Telephone Banking with InterVoice, FISERV’s e-Cash/Cash Management System).

Representative nationally-recognized accomplishments included:

 Initiated cutting-edge financial technology to offer first-ever in the world back-room image checking elevating the Bank to recognition as a leader in the industry.

 Guided the Bank to become a national leader in adopting Corillian’s earliest and most innovative technologies (the Voyager application) thereby offering the Bank considerable cost savings in implementation and high visibility in the industry, resulting in mass customer approval and exceptional customer retention. The Bank’s Voyager application became the central platform for all future innovative e-commerce technologies.

 Led the initiative to become one of the first financial institutions in the nation to offer online banking with PFM software; assisting with the development of online banking functionality with the leading-edge software from Microsoft and Intuit.

 Created procedures and managed processes so that the Bank’s formal IT audits became the “bench-mark” for the industry as a highly regarded institution by governing audit agencies.

 Invited to make numerous formal presentations to industry leaders regarding cutting-edge financial technologies with organizations such as World President’s Organization, Western Independent Bankers, California Bankers Association and other banking professional organizations.

Other representative accomplishments included:

 Championed the Bank’s e-commerce efforts and provided financial technology leadership to this industry icon. Widely revered for having a keen understanding of “cutting edge” financial technology and assessing technologies that would be the best “fit” with the Bank’s short and long term strategic direction for expanding customer base and increasing customer retention as well as competing with larger financial institutions’ technology offerings; at the same time significantly reducing costs. 100% effectiveness rate on every recommendation.

 Leader in the creation of the Bank’s first website; researched new concept of Internet Banking, recruited a top-notch developer and produced the Voyager Application User Interface from scratch; managed the maintenance and refreshing of the site; continually introduced more feature functionality with new technologies while working with marketing to introduce new technology to increase customer retention and attract new customer groups.

 Saved the Bank millions of dollars in major areas such as significantly reduced annual maintenance costs and processing fees.

 Researched, recommended and employed a state-of-the-art Disaster Recovery Hot-Site Service with a complete infrastructure; created a “road map” for installation and implementation; designed a complete bank-wide BC & RS with guidelines (as inspired by Sheshunoff).

 Recruited and managed the implementation and maintenance of Cisco IT Security systems of such a high standard that the Bank has never had a single high/low level intrusion and always received very high security ratings with the FDIC and state auditors as well as third-party audit firms.

Responsibilities included:

 Traveled the U.S. managing core application conversion preparations for financial institutions such as Farmers and Merchants Bank of Lodi, California; Citizens Bank of Liditz, Pennsylvania; Bank of Honolulu, Hawaii; Calcasieu Marine Bank in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

 Worked as a consultant at Bank of Stockton in Stockton, California in a critical post-conversion effort to eradicate problems encountered in a “messy” conversion. Recruited by Bank of Stockton as a result of the very successful conversion “clean-up” and was charged with leading their innovative technology efforts as CTO.
