EDUCATION
UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND, COLLEGE PARK
B.S. in Mathematics expected December 2011
Coursework included advanced linear and abstract algebra, real and complex analysis, and advanced topics in geometry and topology. Topics include point-set topology, algebraic topology, Non-Euclidean and projective geometry and advanced three manifold theory with an emphasis on geometric structures.
Spent three semesters doing original research under the guidance of a post doctoral fellow. Research topic was on differentiating between classical and nonclassical Schottky groups, which have strong connections to hyperbolic 3-manifolds.
EXPERIENCE
EXPERIMENTAL GEOMETRY LAB - College Park, MD
Paid Researcher (February 2009 - August 2010)
Researched questions relating to Euclidean and Non-Euclidean geometries. Reported and presented on findings. Collaborated with other researchers to solve problems and implement solutions. Developed software for geometry research using the Mathematica program. Helped developed several Mathematica notebooks used for current research in geometry/topology.
