Responsibilities include pre and post-settlement aspects, such as generating and balancing HUD statements for refinance and sale transactions, ordering payoffs, receiving loan instructions and packages, communicating with all relevant parties, including lenders, brokers, real estate agents, buyers, sellers, borrowers, HOA management companies, and assembling files for the closing attorney. After settlement, I am responsible for depositing checks, ensuring documents for accuracy, preparing documents for recording, and disbursing closing funds, to include cutting and mailing checks and confirming incoming and outgoing wire transfers. I serve as back-up to our title agency by issuing, signing, and mailing loan and owner’s policies, and preparing title commitments, endorsements, ICLs and preliminary HUDS as needed.

Served as a title insurance underwriter for the title department of a reputable real estate settlement firm. At this company I developed a strong background in underwriting and issuing the following types of commitments and policies: land acquisitions, commercial sales and refinances, interests such as leasehold, right-to-buy and easement(s), construction loans, builder outsales, builder lot takedowns, 1-4 residence sales and refinances. I was also responsible for issuing policy endorsements, ordering title searches from abstractors, performing limited title searches. Regularly tackled complex title problems, including decedents’ estates, trust agreements, easement/access issues, and mechanics liens. Furthermore, I maintained regular correspondence and discussed title dilemmas and solutions with clients. On a bi-monthly basis, I prepared and balanced remittance reports for title insurance premiums. At the end of the month I served as back-up to our Post-Closing Department.
