Quality Manager (2007 – Sept 2009 and 2003 – 2004)
Managed eight final inspectors, two quality technicians, and four maintenance technicians. Implemented and maintained ISO 9001:2000 certification. Utilized Six Sigma tools, Best Business Practice in concert with corporate directives. Prepared monthly reports, in regards to RKPY (first pass yield), OQL, warranty, and scrap. Implemented a warranty tracking system for quick resolution of customer issues and for development of corrective actions (Kempner Trego). Supplier warranty was measured (SDPPM). Implemented an evaluation system to recover cost for supplier quality issues. Implemented measures for compliance to local Environmental and Safety (OSHA 29 CFR 1910) regulations. Maintenance Department set up all PM’s on machines and equipment which we tracked on MAXIMO software.
Continuous Improvement Manager (2005-2007)
Managed two Lean Implementers and one Six Sigma Blackbelt. Responsible for multiple plants, one in California and Illinois (home base). Implement a complete CI program resulting in $835,000 potential savings for first year. Implemented and trained employees on Lean techniques and utilized Kaizen’s for process improvements. Championed effective teams with team power techniques and use of problem solving (PDCA). Successfully utilized six sigma tools to identify and verify if processes where in control.
Plant/Production Manager (1994 – 1997 & 1999 – 2003 & 2004 – 2005)
Managed 150 people + in two separate plants, one in California (1994 – 1996) and the other in Illinois (1999 – 2003). Responsibilities included P&L management with adjustments made as determined by the current market conditions. Successfully increased department efficiencies, and decreased safety lost work time. Responsibilities included day to day release of job packets, new product development initiatives, cost reduction efforts, and reduction of lead time for packages released from Sales to the manufacturing floor.
