Project Manager (Economist) 2007- 2008
Location: Stroy Tranz Gaz, Hyderabad, India
Cost estimation and contract administration for mechanical works such as trenching, laying, welding and filling for gas pipeline.
Work Details:
The project was about laying a 1500 km gas pipeline. It involved making trenches of required depth, welding two or three pipes together and laying and refilling the trenches. After this the pipes were tested for leakage at joints. All these processes were contracted to the local contractors. A cost estimate had to be prepared taking into account the work packages, time involved and the risks such as soil conditions. Requests for Proposals (RFP) were prepared and sellers were selected through advertisement and negotiation on estimated cost. Overall it involved a complete analysis of work packages, scheduling, identifying risks for preparing a cost estimate and administering contract through inspection, audit and performance reporting. Corrective actions were recommended and contractors were helped in formulating sub contracts.
Project Manager (Technical Editor) 2003- 2006
Location: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, India
Oversaw editing of technology and design of missing parts for manufacture of Sukhoi-30 aircraft engines
Work Details:
The project was managed by the project cell of HAL. It involved documentation of technology for manufacture of Sukhoi-30 aircraft engines. Planning involved sequencing of activities from editing to delivery to the shop floor operators. Execution of the project involved editing of technical process sheets and drawings to be sent for manufacture. For convenience of the operators the process sheets were prepared in accordance with technology used for manufacture of RD-33 aircraft engines which were already being manufactured by HAL. Missing process sheets were replaced with the designing of the concerned part and the process sheet prepared for its manufacture. Monitoring and control involved checking the documents with its correspondence with the previous technology and if concerns raised by supervisors from shop floors were addressed or not. Schedule of submission and quality control of edited documents was maintained. Earned value measurements were done to measure performance. Overall the project did not involve any risk. Design of parts with missing technology needed special attention and were closely monitored for any feedbacks from the shop floor.
Project Manager 2002
Location: NIIT, Bihar India
Oversaw project for online banking for NIIT India
Work Details:
The project was about making a software for letting customers carry out financial transactions online. It was executed during certification in Distributed Component Development, Web Application Design.Managed the overall planning and execution of the project. Managing risk was of utmost priority and took steps to mitigate risk through regular meetings and testing. Effected change implementations within budget and schedule. Kept constant communication with the stakeholders to brief them at all stages of the product development. Carried out complete development, test, deployment and support of the software. Developed team through ground rules and training, efficient information distribution and resource allocation.
Mechanical Engineer 1996-2002
Location: Milling Machine Factory of Armenia, Yerevan, Republic of Armenia
Oversaw designing of parts for manufacture and assembly of milling machine 6E75PF1
Work Details:
Drawings were prepared after analysis of technical requirements and conditions for manufacture of machine parts. Design requirements were developed clearly to minimize production costs and conflicts with manufacturing capabilities. Process sheets and calculations for machining allowances and conditions were prepared for the designed parts which included selection of billets, sequencing of machining processes and selection of fixtures, machines and cutting tools. Quality Assurance and economics of machining calculations was carried out and technical documentation was prepared.
