Job Summary:

Conduct an effective and thorough metallurgical laboratory inspections based on approved work procedures and guidelines in order to ensure conformance to set standards

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

•Conducts chemical composition analysis on incoming virgin and secondary ingots to confirm if it is within the set standard by using spectrovac machine.

•Conducts every four hours regular chemical composition analysis of the furnaces aluminum melt if it is within the set standard by using spectrovac machine.

•Computes and determine the amount of alloying elements that are to be added based on aluminum melt composition results.

•Determines the amount of virgin aluminum ingot that are to be charged to the furnace based on the current iron content level as determined during chemical composition analysis.

•Conducts hourly vacuum testing of the furnaces aluminum melt.

•Conducts X-ray inspection on all casted wheels to check casting defects by using the X-ray machine.

•Conducts wheel failure analysis of claimed wheels as required.

•Conducts hardness testing as required.

•Conducts daily and monthly data summary of statistical process control chart.

•Complies with the required ISO/TS quality management procedure.

•Conducts internal or subcontracted mechanical properties test and/ or metallographic analysis of required models.

•Monitor consumable items in the metallurgical laboratory.

•Observed proper storage and safe keeping of all records and files.

•Performs internal audit every six months.

•Assure the calibration and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment’s are perform on schedule.
