Responsible for project construction oversight and plan implementation including personnel, equipment, costs, scheduling and daily operations and field activity reports for PM team. Make installation, repairs or replace, and test new and existing electrical switches, breakers and controls located inside and outside installation buildings and structures. Troubleshoot problem areas and inspect for defective equipment and faulty wiring. Use and maintain a variety of hand and power tools such as wire cutters, soldering irons, cable pullers, hand and hydraulic benders, and pipe threading machines. Perform a full range of journeyman level work involved in the maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of overhead, underground, interior, and exterior electrical transmission and distribution system with voltages from 110/220V to 130KV. Installation and maintenance of primary transformers with voltage variances and transformer configurations for overhead and pad mounted underground distribution. Maintenance and operation of switchgear, primary breakers, overhead, and pad mounted switches, lines, cutouts, lightening arrestors, and associated equipment. Responsible for design, routing and installing conduit and design, installation and maintenance of Cad weld grounding grid for substations and generator enclosures. Splicing and repair of underground secondary and primary distribution lines.

Use measuring instruments such as volt/ohm meters, phasing sticks, rotation meters, fault location meters, hydraulic crimpers and dyes.

Project Highlights

Infrastructure Improvement Projects (2008 to Present) Budgets: $450K to $4M

Remove and replace existing underground electrical distribution system with upgrade to accommodate larger load demands and replace outdated distribution panels, buss bars, switch gear, transformers, dip poles, cut outs, lightning arrestors and current and potential transformers and metering equipment. Completing all projects on or under budget.

Currently providing inspection and oversight on roof replacement and structural upgrades to four buildings three and four stories in height budgeted at 3.5M.

Environmental Remediation (2005 to 2006) Budgets: $2M to $8M

Served as Field Operations Manager on US Coast Guard Vessel and Debris Removal Project in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. Collected data on vessels and debris in all navigable waterways in and around New Orleans and plot out information for data management team. Worked with Project and Environmental Engineers and vessel owners to develop lift plan and coordinate delivery or disposal of items blocking commercial traffic.

Government Projects (1983 to 1997)

Worked in the Dept. of Public Works and Engineering serving in several different capacities as a Journeyman Carpenter, Journeyman Electrician and a Plumber Apprentice. Applied a full range of expertise on civil, structural, infrastructure and utility projects, working from blueprints, schematics, one line diagrams and verbal communication. Was able to complete a four year High Voltage Electrical Apprenticeship.
