Managed civil/utility phases of construction activity for an Air Force community development including demolition, asbestos abatement, and construction of new residencies and supporting facilities and infrastructure. Supervised replacement of underground High Voltage distribution lines, pad mounted transformers, switch gear and metering points. Retrofit of sewer and water laterals to accommodate increased demand. Responsible for building pads on grade, slabs placement, driveways, curbs, drainage, landscaping and security fencing.

SHAW ENVIRONMENTAL AND INFRASTRUCTURE (Baton Rouge, La) Project Mgr/Site Super.,9/05 to 9/06

Provide site supervision and field engineering on a diverse range of residential and commercial construction, demolition and vessel salvage projects (budgets ranging from $450K to $7.5M). Responsible for project construction oversight and plan implementation including personnel, equipment, costs, scheduling and daily operations and field activity reports for PM team. Verify established elevation points for the installation of streets, curbs, sidewalks, domestic water, sewer, electrical distribution, storm drains, manhole inverts, building corners and construction limits. Install HV metering points, pad mount transformers, switchgear and make cable terminations. Energize and check voltages.

AECOM TECHNOLOGY CORP. (FORT POLK, LA) ELECTRICAL FOREMAN (HIGH VOLTAGE), 06/03 TO 09/05

Make installation, repairs or replace, and test new and existing electrical switches, breakers and controls located inside and outside installation buildings and structures. Troubleshoot problem areas and inspect for defective equipment and faulty wiring. Use and maintain a variety of hand and power tools such as wire cutters, soldering irons, cable pullers, hand and hydraulic benders, and pipe threading machines. Utilize safety equipment and follow established safety rules and regulations. I am the Quality Assurance Advocate for the Training Support Branch and make daily inspections and reports on the QEMSWEB Program for Project Management. Overseeing construction projects related to the communication industry in the range of $50,000 $6,500,000. Securing local building permits, reviewing plans and specifications, solicitation of bids, bid review and selection, quality control, cost projections and maintaining safety standards. Generally work includes placement of cellular telephone tower sites and related communication equipment and buildings to include: Maintain a working knowledge of all federal, state, and local ordinances. DEPT. PUBLIC WORKS (FORT POLK, LA) HIGH VOLTAGE ELECTRICIAN, 06/1983 TO 01/1997

Perform a full range of journeyman level work involved in the maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of overhead, underground, interior, and exterior electrical transmission and distribution system with voltages from 110/220V to 130KV. Installation and maintenance of primary transformers with voltage variances and transformer configurations for overhead and pad mounted underground distribution. Maintenance and operation of switchgear, primary breakers, overhead, and pad mounted switches, lines, cutouts, lightening arrestors, and associated equipment. Responsible for design, routing and installing conduit and design, installation and maintenance of Cad weld grounding grid for substations and generator enclosures. Splicing and repair of underground secondary and primary distribution lines.

Use measuring instruments such as volt/ohm meters, phasing sticks, rotation meters, fault location meters, hydraulic crimpers and dyes.

Operated aerial bucket truck, winch/digger truck, trenching machine, bull dozer, backhoe, tractor and bush hog, four wheeler and mule.

Project Highlights

Infrastructure Improvement Projects (2008 to Present) Budgets: $450K to $4M

Remove and replace existing underground electrical distribution system with upgrade to accommodate larger load demands and replace outdated distribution panels, buss bars, switch gear, transformers, dip poles, cut outs, lightning arrestors and current and potential transformers and metering equipment. Completing all projects on or under budget.

Currently providing inspection and oversight on roof replacement and structural upgrades to four buildings three and four stories in height budgeted at 3.5M.

Environmental Remediation (2005 to 2006) Budgets: $2M to $8M

Served as Field Operations Manager on US Coast Guard Vessel and Debris Removal Project in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. Collected data on vessels and debris in all navigable waterways in and around New Orleans and plot out information for data management team. Worked with Project and Environmental Engineers and vessel owners to develop lift plan and coordinate delivery or disposal of items blocking commercial traffic.

Government Projects (1983 to 1997)

Worked in the Dept. of Public Works and Engineering serving in several different capacities as a Journeyman Carpenter, Journeyman Electrician and a Plumber Apprentice. Applied a full range of expertise on civil, structural, infrastructure and utility projects, working from blueprints, schematics, one line diagrams and verbal communication. Was able to complete a four year High Voltage Electrical Apprenticeship.

Completed diverse construction/demolition projects, including the ground-up build of 450 new government houses, 6500 sq. ft. community activity center, 3500 sq ft recycle center, gymnasium and swimming pool from site demolition, grading, setting forms, concrete placement, electrical distribution, installation and final inspection and close out and issuance of Certificate of Occupancy.
