05/08 – present EDI\Maricopa County Phoenix, AZ

VMware Engineer\Architect: Maricopa County was end of life on hardware and wanted to leverage virtualization as a cost and resource optimization vehicle. Collaborated with multiple departments to develop environmental requirements including application owners, business stakeholders, mangers, security\compliance officers and c-level executives.

• Architected and implemented VMware ESX 3.5 server farm for a 1000+ client environment based on best practices and client requirements with fully functional Vmotion, HA and DRS cluster.

• Worked with HP EVA 4400, 5000, 8100 SAN’s for VMFS3 Datastores.

• Created hardware recommendations based on projected growth and current resource utilization, including an evaluation of any currently implemented systems.

• Developed and maintained supporting documentation regarding the build and ongoing support of the VMware environment.

• Integrated HP SIM to monitor VMware host and virtual servers.

• Utilized PlateSpin Portability Suite for physical to virtual conversions.

• Built base ESX 3.5 servers to house Development and Staging environments for MFR application.

Sr. Citrix Engineer\Architect: Client desired and consistent application platform and decided on Citrix. They required assistance on full architecture including necessary modifications and upgrades to existing applications and active directory.

• Redesigned a 40+ Citrix Presentation server farm incorporating VMware and Citrix best practices.

• Created appropriate AD GPO’s for Citrix environment with over 500 users across the U.S Canada and Europe.

• Optimized environment using proper sizing and load balancing.

• Deployed, maintained and administered 80+ servers in a Microsoft and Citrix environment.

• Served as Lead Engineer for Citrix Presentation server 3.5 and VMware ESX 3 administration.

Systems / Application Administrator: Client was bought out by Corbis and needed an administrator to get knowledge transfer of current work streams from outgoing personnel. They also required assistance in hardware consolidation of their entire infrastructure environment.

• Provided systems administration for server farm hosted at Class A data center.

• Worked with EMC NAS / SAN, Cisco firewalls, Nortel load balancers, HP switches, Microsoft Virtual Server 2005, and VMware.

• Provided application deployment and administration of hosted application in an Application Service Provider environment for numerous enterprise customers.

• Used Veritas Backup Exec to perform backups of multi terabyte storage environment.
