RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
Research assistant, YMCA (June 2008 – Dec 2008)
• Redesigned the reception area at the YMCA facility using time and motion studies, spaghetti diagrams, simulation, alternate layouts in Microsoft Visio
• Incorporating additional locker room at the existing YMCA facility using utilization analysis, simulation, lean tools
Teaching assistant, Binghamton University (August 2007 – May 2008)
• Created and taught a lecture on Microsoft Visio and Microsoft project
• Provided academic support to 30 students
ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Master’s thesis
• Studied the effect of noise on human performance and productivity by using the occupational skill assessment tests. Experiments were conducted using three factors namely noise source, noise level and noise type. The data was analyzed in MINITAB software using ANOVA to determine which factor was most significant and if there were any interactions between various factors.
Academic projects
• Developed a shop scheduling software applying heuristic rules to calculate the optimum time for manufacturing a job in a manufacturing facility using visual basics and SQL server
• Built a decision support system for calculating the critical path for a project
• Worked at the Broome county workforce center to help develop a simulation model in arena software to increase the resource utilization at the facility
• Worked on the housing conditions of Boston suburbs by using multivariate data analysis techniques and predicted the new housing prices of Boston suburbs and classified various districts in Boston based on house values and the living standard in that particular area
