My first assignment was the inauguration of a preventive maintenance system for five Danish supported shrimp trawlers all operating in the Bay of Bengal and having Chittagong as basis port.

Ultimo 1981 I got involved with the delivery of four brand new Danish build ferries also for Bangladesh.

My responsibility in this matter was representing DANIDA during the delivery formalities from yard to DANIDA and again from DANIDA to the state of Bangladesh.

In addition I served onboard one of the ferries as chief engineer during the voyage from Denmark to Bangladesh.

For non relevant info all ferries sunk within 5 years due to overloading and bad weather in the Delta area.
