Team Building
Resourceful project manager and engineer with
experience for top firms including The Louis
Berger Group, Boeing and Bell Labs. Contributions
in R&D/new product development, reengineering
processes to improve efficiency
and developing fixes/workarounds to hold down
costs and save time. Can contribute immediately
by:
-Rapidly analyzing requirements and defining
project scope
-Developing data-driven recommendations for sound
decision-making
-Utilizing Kaizen, Kanban and Lean concepts as
platforms for efficiency
-Isolating technical problems and developing low-
cost solutions
-Managing projects to completion on-time and on-
budget despite obstacles
Analytical and calm under pressure, I have a
disciplined approach to the execution of project
plans. Energize teams with clear objectives,
benchmarking and rewards for top performance.
I received a BS degree in Physics from Carnegie
Mellon University and an MS
degree in Physics from the University of
Pittsburgh. Awarded a PMP Certification from the
Project Management Institute in 2009. Top Secret
clearance. Member, IEEE and BICSI. Senior Member
of Instrument Society of
America.
SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Uncovered costly telecom design flaw. Contractor
on $500M Defense Information
Systems Agency (DISA) overlooked key design
element during initial construction phase.
Identified and proved cabling workaround to avoid
costly reconstruction. Received DISA approval for
reengineering and saved $18M.
Developed network enhancement for improved fault
tolerance. Relocation of WMATA Operations Control
Center provided opportunity for improvement of
fault tolerance. Devised inexpensive network
enhancement to provide for multiple, co-equal
operation control centers. Improved both system
reliability and
disaster recovery.
Saved $2M+ on testing at Bell Laboratories.
Testing of Remote Measurement Systems (RMS) had
been neglected. Produced requirements, design and
cost estimates for creating new external test
environment. Surprised management by
having new testing jigs operational within two
months.
Implemented client-server fix to save Boeing
$40M. Company was replacing mainframe with
client-server system to improve parts delivery to
assembly line. Volume testing showed parts loss
during production of shop orders.
Designed, developed and installed series of
system fixes that eliminated parts loss.
Managed emergency installation of VoIP system.
Urgent relocation of a Washington Metro Area
Transit Authority operation required fast
turnaround of new telecom system. Identified
qualified 8(a) vendor with technology that met
operational needs. Successfully installed Metro?s
first-ever VoIP system.
