It was a new project. I was the onsite coordinator of the project. As there was no documentation of the application, it was a real challenge to meet client requirements. Challenges were talking to various platform experts, business users and understanding the functionalities across AS400 and other platforms.

The project was to retire the transportation management system running on AS400 because of its preconceived inability to meet requirements of the modern world like Email with attachments of any type, generating spread sheets, generating PDFs, XML processing, SOA enabling. All the misconceptions were off the table in months by providing all these functionalities for free hence adding value to business.

Project : Warehouse Management System (Supply Chain)

I was designated as a Software Engineer.

Was a team member, was an active member Change Request (CR) Team. Has to speak to business consultants for getting the information about the CRs created in CMS (configuration management system) and has to fix it on priority basis.

o Maintenance: At any time a change is expected. It is entered in CMS as per the priority and availability, CR team has to pick up the CRs and finish it. It is responsibility of each CR team member to finish 5 CRs or above/week.

This six-sigma project was solely a production support project but enhancements were implemented as per the business requirements.
