Hardware Planning & Support Analyst
• Lead projects, including, the planning, implementation, & support of; hardware refreshes, LPAR moves, CONFIG changes, new customer implementations involving CPU, DASD, Tape, Tape Robotics, Virtual Tape, Escon Directors, SAN Switches(FICON), automated console & Tape reporting solutions, etc. for 40+ CPU’s with 80+ LPAR’s satisfying contractual obligations, increasing reliability and customer satisfaction

• Installed, supported & upgraded Automation Point(AP) servers replacing consoles with new technology, allowing improved automation, increasing operator efficiency, reducing errors and costs
• Identified the need for and lead the project to standardize our Initiator Automation solutions. I then designed, coded, implemented a standard Automation application with the flexibility to be used on hundreds of LPAR’s in all EDS North American IPC’s in an effort to standardize the IPL process, minimizing downtime, meeting SLA’s, avoiding penalties, increasing profitability. This lead to a major effort to standardize all major solutions over the next several years. The “Standard Ruleset” has resulted in major productivity gains.
• Lead the “Software Refresh” project for the Automation group several years allowing for a seamless transition to improved functionality not only with the Automation tools, but with other system applications(DB2, IMS, CICS, DFHSM, CA-7, etc.) as well as the Operating System allowing us to meet contractual agreements, SLA’s increasing customer satisfaction
