• Experience with solubility enhancement studies using cyclodextrin and dendrimer

• Hands on experience of working with small animals for organ distribution and pharmacokinetics

• Ability to independently plan research projects, interpret data and to draw meaningful conclusions

• Ability to work in multidisciplinary team

Professional experience: Post-doctoral scholar

Oklahoma University Health science center, OK City, OK, USA (May 2007-Present)

Summary of projects handled

• Development, characterization and evaluation of protein formulations (NIH funded project): Development of Liposome Encapsulated Hemoglobin (LEH) formulation, physicochemical

and functional characterization of LEH, in vitro toxicity studies in HUVEC cell lines, in vivo efficiency evaluation in 40% hemorrhagic shock model in rats

• Development, characterization and evaluation of liposomal anticancer agents: Development of liposome containing hydrophobic anticancer agents, physicochemical characterization, in vitro cytotoxicity studies in H441 lung and PC3 prostate cancer cell lines, in vivo antitumor activity evaluation in xenograft lung cancer model in nude rats

• Development of nanoparticles for anticancer drugs (ongoing project): This project is at optimization stage. Our ultimate goal is to develop peptide/antibody targeted nanoparticles for cancer targeting.

• Solubility Enhancement: Solubility enhancement studies on hydrophobic drugs using cyclodextrins and dendrimers, phase solubility analysis, formation and characterization of inclusion complexes by DSC and XRD, encapsulation of inclusion complexes into liposome for drug delivery

Wayne State University, Detroit, MI, USA (May 2006-April 2007)

• Responsibility: Formulation development of polymer based drug delivery systems Summary: Formation and characterization of dendrimer-drug conjugates dendrimer-drug complexes, PEGylation of dendrimers.
