I have worked to build and maintain this Company in the capacity of maintenance, fabrication as well as field work to include seed bedding and filling and shaping ground in a variety of erosion practices. My career with Pilchuck began in their drilling division. I worked with all types and sizes of directional drilling equipment. Many of the jobs proved to be challenging, with each having it’s own unique set of obstacles, seen and unseen. The site preparations were various in their locations, had size restrictions, accessibility considerations and critical time frames. Skills utilized to perform these duties included interpreting plans, reading engineering drawings, surveying, scheduling specifications with consideration paid to the specific of the earthworks such as wetlands and waterways. My daily responsibilities were the transport of equipment, drill set-up, screening plants and set up of support trailers. I had knowledge of all operating equipment, operated and maintained the equipment, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair said equipment with minimal down time. In 2004 I changed over to the Contractor Division of Pilchuck and worked in the gas division. My duties were to interpret computer generated work orders for the transport of a Dump Truck and Backhoe to various job sites. Work performed included excavating in right-away and non right-away locations and varied in depth and length. completed approximately 50+ miles of directional drilling and installed approximately 150+ miles of pipeline. One job in particular was performed in the Olympic National Forrest area involving Specification considerations were made for various underground utilities, as Regulations required. I assisted in the installation of as lines, both steel and plastic, in various length’s and diameter’s. Successfully, I have the placement of fiber optics over a mountain pass. The area covered thirty plus miles, plowing with two DC7's working together over difficult terrain. I was selected to work as a Opearator/Mechanic in Alaska on the North Slope. The project was to install 60,000 feet of gas line into a Village located 97 miles Northeast of Deadhorse. I was certified in the Transportation of fuel by the BP Corporation. My duties were performed under very treacherous conditions, with minimal supervision, and required long hours logging in more than 7500 miles over ice roads.

The position held as Camp Engineer took me on excursions into many parts of Alaska. While on the Zarembo Island I was responsible for the maintenance and daily operations of the “Camp Midway and “Camp Clearwater”. (See pictures for details). Barge set up entailed camp mobilization, placement and anchor setting. I performed maintenance such as; electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, carpentry as well as vehicle maintenance to include the inspection and maintenance for shipment of tires on vehicles and equipment and proper disposal of all waste. On a daily basis I maintained and operated several 22' work skiffs, refueled barge and land tanks, monitored, repaired and maintained the fuel system transfer pumps. My duties also required ordering of supplies for overall daily operations and establishment of all safety equipment and emergency drills. Related work performed while on the Island included preparing 2.3 million board feet of timber for shipment to the mills. This work required a final inspection by the US Forrest Service on roads and culverts. Other duties at the Ketchikan Shipyard included painting and working with Journeyman Pipe Fitters and Welders learning the trades. My ending salary was $15.00 per hour.
