Sep 2007 – present TEK Systems, Inc. – on assignment with EDS
Responsible for developing Web and Desktop applications. Web applications were developed using ASP.NET with the .NET 1.1 framework and VB.NET code behind. Desktop applications were done using C# with the .NET 2.0 framework. The web applications utilized an ODBC/MX 2.0 ODBC connection to access Tandem NonStop SQL tables. All Desktop applications used the .NET Oracle Data Provider to access all data from an Oracle Database.
Aug 2003 – Sep 2007 Garver Engineers, LLC – Software Developer
Developed and maintained a company intranet and other .net software applications. Web applications were ASP, ASP.NET, and SQL Server 2000. Visual Studio was used to develop the .NET software with VB.Net and C#. All data driven web pages utilized SQL Server 2000 as the database. Queries were written using Stored Procedures and parameterized statements.
Other web technologies include AJAX, JavaScript, VBScript, ASP, HTML, XML, IIS.
Also assisted in installing software and troubleshooting user’s pc as necessary.
Mar 2002 – Aug 2003 Contract Programming
Planned, Developed, and maintained a program to read and modify data observations in SAS Transport files. Data was then sent to the EPA for further data verification. The program was written in C++ using Borland C++ Builder.
Jul 1997 – May 2002 Computer Sciences Corp. - Systems Programming Consultant
Responsible for upgrading client's outsourcing platforms
from MVS/XA and ESA to OS/390. This includes operating system
software and third party software using SMP/E and
Vendor supplied tools when necessary. Other duties
include providing 3rd Level Support to computer staff
as needed.
Oct 1995 - Jul 1997 Biotechnical Services, Inc. - Programming Consultant
Used SAS Base, SAS/AF, SAS/FSP, SQL to develop, program, and
implement input screens, data queries, listings and
other ad-hoc reports for several clinical trial projects.
Worked with external clients in designing the databases used for the clinical trial studies. Worked with the programming staff in populating and cleaning the data to be used for each clinical trial study. Worked closely with the biostatisticians at the end of each study preparing the final data to send to the client.
Worked with end users showing them how to use the screens, queries and listings to input and extract data into and out of the databases.
Oct 1994 - Oct 1995 Alltel Information Services - Senior Systems Programmer
Responsible for monitoring system response times,
system workloads, and resource utilization. Used SAS,
MXG, RMF, ISM and OMEGAMON as the primary tools for
monitoring systems. Responsible for holding Run Time
Improvement meetings on a monthly basis with each
client to respond to performance issues and suggest
changes to improve performance.
May 1994 - Oct 1994 Systematics, Inc. - Systems Programming Consultant
Hired on as a Systems Programming Consultant to develop a system for measuring and monitoring Service Level Agreements between Systematics and their Outsourcing clients. I planned, coded and implemented a procedure using SAS and MXG to build performance databases using SMF data for monitoring those agreements.
Jan 1990 - May 1994 ACXIOM CORPORATION - MVS Systems Programmer
Started MVS Performance Tuning at the end of 1993.
Responsible for monitoring system response times,
system workloads, and resource utilization.
Responsible for changing system parameters in order to
maximize system response times, batch throughput, and
resource utilization.
From March - July 1993 headed the Systems Programming
team in a new data center project for our outsourcing
customers. This project consisted of the planning and
implementation associated with relocating three
outsourcing customers to a new data center.
From 1990 - 1993 responsible for installing,
maintaining, and customizing MVS/XA and MVS/SP
operating systems and third party software in an SMP/E
environment. Also responsible for developing and
implementing system standards, and insuring system
efficiency.
