Specify sizes and parameters for divert valves, flow control valves, flow meters and others. Write purchasing requisitions for the different pieces of equipment. Witnessed equipment test at the vendor site in Canada for bulk bag unloaders.
Kellogg’s, Battle Creek, MI. Relocation of a Cooling Dryer from Memphis, TN to London, Canada. Developed and reviewed P&ID's. Wrote process equipment specifications. Reviewed and modified the energy and material balances.
Eli Lilly, Indianapolis, IN. Provided technical support developing and revising P&ID’s on a biopharmaceutical project. Calculated pressure relief valves and rupture disks loads for fire condition following NFPA standards and the line capacities. Calculated the glycol loads used in vessel jackets based on the process cooling requirements.
Kellogg’s, Battle Creek, MI. Provided technical support on a new product start-up. Made modifications to the almond feeding process to minimize almond dust accumulation, improving final product quality.
Kraft, Granite City, IL. Developed and modified utility hot water and steam P&ID’s for a soft drink plant. Calculated line sizes for steam and domestic hot water based on flow and users requirements.
Nestlé-Purina, Dunkirk, NY. Developed utility hot water and cooling water P&ID’s for a dog food plant expansion project. Calculated all the design parameters for utility hot water and cooling water tanks and pumps. Calculated the design parameters for a steam injection control valve and an air receiver. Wrote construction specifications for process mechanical equipment installation, process piping and utility piping. Wrote equipment specifications and data sheets for utility hot water and cooling water tanks and pumps, steam injection control valve, air receiver and utility water heat exchanger.
Wrigley, Chicago, IL. Calculated all the design parameters for product pumps for a new gum base manufacturing plant in China. Specify sizes and parameters for process tanks and melting vessels. Write specifications for the different pieces of process equipment.
Kellogg’s, Battle Creek, MI. Developed P&ID’s for a rice based cereal coating process. Verified the process material (vegetable oil and cinnamon sugar) calculations based on the cereal load. Calculated all the design parameters for product pumps (vegetable oil unloading and recirculation). Specify sizes and parameters for divert valves, flow control valves, flow meters and other instruments on the vegetable oil lines and the cinnamon sugar equipment to dusting, coating drum, sugar auger feeder, gravimetric feeder, volumetric feeders, hoppers and spray manifold. Write purchasing requisitions for the different pieces of equipment, oil supply and sugar dusting.
Coors, Memphis, TN. Developed P&ID’s for the ammonia system on a brewing plant project. Wrote the SOP considering design, operation and safety parameters for the ammonia system as part of a PSM project.
Brach’s Confections, Chicago, IL. Developed P&ID’s on a candy plant relocation project.
Unilever, Jefferson City, MO. Calculated all the design parameters for product and utility pumps for a hair products production line. Provided technical support by reviewing and revising P&ID’s, generate and maintained the equipment and line lists with all the data requirements and specifications.
Cerro Copper, Cedar City, UT. Designed a dust collector system for high temperature particulate for a copper tubing production line. Reviewed information supplied by vendors on bag house, sparks trap, rotary valve and fan for conformance to process requirements and composed a bid package for submission to the purchasing department. Provided technical support by reviewing and revising P&ID’s.
