production, and predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance of industrial machinery. Work

schedule includes 24/7, 12-hour rotating shifts.

• Instituted the “train-the-trainer” mentorship program aimed at up-skilling other Manufacturing Supervisors in lean manufacturing principles. Specifically chosen as plant representative to lead continuous improvement efforts.

• Championed efforts that increased the plant’s Preventive Maintenance (PM) completion rate from 47% to 92%. Revised program that increased maintenance utilization by 66%.

Manufacturing Engineer (Jan 2006 – May 2007)

Leader of over 50 kaizen events and over 100 Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) workshops aimed at developing key metric and process standards for daily management. Six-Sigma tools increased OEE from 58% to 70% and achieved a $500,000 cost savings.

• Implemented lean manufacturing principles to increase machinery run times from 3 days to 14 days and reducing machine setups by 74%. Developed a preventive maintenance schedule, which became the model plant-wide, that increased machinery uptime by 60%

• Troubleshooting skills resulted in a 65% advancement in machine efficiency, a 45% decrease in cycle times and a 35% reduction in scrap material through the introduction of a 5-step problem solving process focused on Pareto and root cause analysis.

• Procured $7 million in technical training equipment for a $5.5 million advanced training facility, working among 7 naval and civilian federal regulatory entities.

• Designed and introduced curriculum for 5 engineering courses aimed at training the Navy’s most technological and advanced engineers. Project completed 3 months early and $250,000 under budget.

• Lead architect in the redesign of a $4.8MM state-of-the-art gas turbine propulsion plant engineering training facility—the only “live” operational training facility / plant in the Navy. Project completed $1.3MM under budget.

United States Navy, USS WADSWORTH (FFG 9) Feb 1998 - Aug 2000

Managed a 45-person department. Direct link to Commanding Officer for all navigation matters. Specifically chosen as Battle Group Navigator during multi-ship war exercises with foreign countries.
