AXSYS TECHNOLOGIES ACCOMPLISHMENTS
A major contract was available however we did not have the necessary machine tools to complete the job. Result: Developed and acquired 10 million dollars in new Machine tools in order to support the James Webb space telescope program. We won the contract worth 22 million and delivered all components on time with zero defects. .
We had no facility large enough to set up the new equipment required for the above mentioned contract. Result: Formulated a building expansion of 26,000 square feet on time and within budget.
There was no formal PM program in maintenance requiring outside services to certify machines and causing scrap from the machine tools that were out of tolerance and we did not have time to calibrate. Result: Researched and implemented a PM program in the maintenance dept requiring yearly use of a laser to ensure the correct geometric tolerance and certification of every machine tool in the operation. Saved over 40k in outside services and reduced scrap by 300k.
The Operation was selling 21 million annually and the corporate goal was to grow the market. Result: We shipped 46 million dollars last year with 25% less staffing by implementing Lean philosophy and having at least 12 lean events per year.
Available tooling was insufficient to meet production requirements. Result: Designed and implemented 24/7 operations in 2 plants. Delivered 100% on time and the efficiency increased by 30%.
AMERICOLD COMPRESSOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS
The company did not meet customer demands in production. I identified bottlenecks that were causing problems in production. I eliminated the bottlenecks and streamlined the process. Result: 50% increase in production from 12K to 18K units per day with a 20% reduction in staffing.
The union contract expired. Result: successful in negotiating 3(every 4 years) union contracts representing 1100 employees. Customers were kept on schedule and the contract settled within corporate budget.
Available tooling was insufficient to meet production requirements. Result: Designed and implemented 24/7 operations in 2 plants. Delivered 100% on time and the efficiency increased by 30%.
