Support The Investment Management Trading Accounting System (IDSSG). System runs on Alpha/VMS system and is written in Fortran and C languages. It also utilizes SYBASE databases for some of its processing. Make enhancements as necessary, identify and fix bugs.

Deutsche Bank/Bankers Trust Company, New York City, 4/98 – 1/2008

Contracted to work on enhancements, of Bankers Trust’s client access system, SPS. The SPS application is a file and message based interface between outside parties and backend applications in the bank. Designed and implemented fully configurable SWIFT message formatter and parser in both SWIFT II and XML formats for SWIFT FIN and SWIFT Net application. Designed the SPS to MQ interface.

Made major enhancements to the SPS relational database, significantly increasing throughput. All database access via SQL

Designed and Implemented the SPS interface to the EuroGiro network. The Eurogiro front end resides on an Alpha workstation running Dec Unix. Wrote Kshell scripts to handle administrative and monitoring functions. Designed and coded the addition of functionality to handle the new EURO currency. Also designed and implemented functionality to allow SPS, a file based system, to also handle individual messages.

CitiBank, New York City, 1/97 - 3/98

Contracted to work on enhancements, bug fixes, and support of Citibank’s Funds Transfer Network. Worked on the successful implementation of the Fed’s New Format project. VMS version upgrade and porting of code from the VAX C to DEC C compiler.

Bankers Trust Company, New York City, 4/96 - 1/97

Returned to work on enhancements to Bankers Trust's Interest Rate Swaps trading system, CMSWAP.

Citicorp Dealing Resources, Parsippany, New Jersey, 7/95 - 3/96

Contracted to write the Functional and Detailed Design Specifications for the Real TIme Automated Credit Interface (ACI) enhancement to the Electronic Brokering System (EBS). EBS is a worldwide, anonymous electronic Foreign Exchange system.

Gave a presentation to the EBS partners in London, on the completed Functional Specifications.

Bankers Trust Company, New York City, 3/92 - 7/95

Worked on enhancements and support for Bankers Trust's Interest Rate Swaps trading system, CMSWAP, in FORTRAN and RDB. Added new and enhanced existing, user interfaces and functionality as requested by traders and back office personnel. Also supported Options and documentation systems.

Lead designer and developer on team designing and implementing new client-server architecture, utilizing ACMS, for the Money Transfer area. Used ErWin design tool. Designed and implemented shared memory based object database in C for Windows and VMS.

NYNEX Science and Technology, White Plains, New York, 10/90 - 1/92

Contracted with Neural Networks and Learning Group Lab. Worked on QA, machine vision algorithms, image processing, and design and implementation of programming interfaces to character recognition products. Given responsibility to analyze CASE, reverse engineering, and license management software tools. All work done on Sun UNIX in C and C++.

Other responsibilities included writing shell scripts and supporting the QA effort.

Chemical Bank, New York City, 4/89 - 9/90

Overall design for ChemLink Front End on VMS. Allowed Chemical Bank corporate customers access to current account information... balances, credits, and debits... and to make electronic funds transfers from their office PC. Code written in Pascal.

Trained Chemical Bank personnel in transaction processing theory in general, and use of DecIntact and RMS in particular. Wrote much of the functional and design specifications.

MARINE MIDLAND BANK, 2/88 - 4/89

Assistant VAX systems project manager. Directly involved in development of new Funds Transfer/Payment system, done jointly with Marine's parent, Hong Kong Shanghai Bank. Along with overseeing several programming teams, other duties included:

PRECISION BUSINESS SYSTEMS, New York City, 8/85 - 5/86

Placed at CitiBank, to work with client personnel and other consultants on a new VAX/VMS based Funds Transfer system. Initially wrote C programs using the transaction monitor TMX, PBS' product. Went on to do analysis of, and then write the functional and system design specifications for the CitiBank New York Clearing House payment system interface.

Information System Officer - Project Leader

CHASE MANHATTAN BANK, New York City, 3/83 - 8/85

Senior programmer for the development of a new VAX based Federal Reserve Bank Funds Transfer system. Designed and wrote many of the critical portions of the system including, the printer driver, queue manager, Real Time message router mechanism, and operations interface. All programs were written in Pascal within the NEXSYS transaction monitor environment. The operations interface was written in DCL.

Promoted to Information Systems Officer, and Project leader for the Domestic electronic payment and funds transfer system. In that capacity managed six programmers.

In addition to Electrical Contracting responsibilities, developed an invoicing and job costing system. Designed a complete business system utilizing the Ingres Relational Database.
