Duties: As supervisor of the art department carpentry shop, I ensured the safety of

students, faculty and staff by conducting safety classes and one-on-one instruction on how

to use each piece of woodworking machinery. I also maintained and repaired all of the shop

equipment and tools including table saws, band saws, routers, sanders, drills and drivers,

etc.

 Original Productions 2004 Builder

Duties: I was invited to 'compete' on the Discovery Channel show 'Monster House'. As

one of five builders on the Shark House episode, we were challenged with a 'monstrous'

construction project and then given an 'impossibly' short deadline. We defined the word

teamwork and beat all previously set time records by miles.

I was again invited back as a builder for a special episode to commemorate Discovery

Channel's 20th anniversary. We all worked together to complete a very successful and

monstrously fantastic construction project well before the deadline.

 International Union of Operating Engineers Heavy Construction Equipment Operator

Duties: As a heavy construction equipment operator for a number of contractors I was

responsible for the safe and efficient operation of loaders, bulldozers, backhoes, rough terrain

forklifts and cranes, rollers, bobcats, scrapers, skip loaders and other heavy machinery. Specific

duties varied by project and are outlined below.

IUOE CONTRCTORS INCLUDE:

California Corridor Constructors (Kiewit/Granite JV) - I worked as an apprentice heavy

equipment operator on the contruction of a toll road in Southern California.

Kiewit - Diamond Valley Reservoir – I was on the blasting crew charged with 'blowing up' a

mountain and utilizing the rock to build a dam. I was responsible for carefully operating a bobcat

and a skip loader on top of 60 foot deep holes filled with explosives.

Kajima – Ray Wilson, North Hollywood Metro Station – I operated a small 'carry deck' crane 90

feet below the surface of Lankershim Blvd. to construct a tunnel and Metro Station.

Balfour Beatty, Port of Tacoma railway bridge – As a crane oiler I was responsible for the safety,

maintenance and repairs of a large Link Belt crane.

 Blue Pacific Construction Carpenter 1991 – 1993

Duties: As a rough carpenter I worked as a crew member laying out and framing houses,

condominiums and apartment buildings. I also met with inspectors for a variety of jurisdictions

to walk job sites and note any necessary corrections.
