• Served as the Director of Power Plant Engineering, leading the design, development and integration of 5 MW packaged solar thermal power plant, and also responsible for solar power plant project management:
o Developing the complete heat transfer loop design, including pre-heaters/ economizers, boilers/evaporators, superheaters.
o Developing Process Flow Diagram and P&IDs for the plant including the Heat Transfer Fluid (HTF) system.
o Performing complex engineering analysis of design of the HTF system , including design of boiler (economizer, evaporator, superheater), and boiler thermal performance calculations, pressure part design, tube material selection and tube metal temperature calculations, and HTF system operational reviews and tune-ups.
o Being responsible for all vendor contracts for custom fabricated equipment, the HTF system equipment including steam generators, HTF pumps, tanks, as well as the balance of plant equipment, including condensers, de-aerators, multiple effect flash distillation units.
o Leading the Suntrough Energy’s proprietary passive molten salt thermal storage technology.
o Interfacing with EPC contractors, and international engineering contractors to develop Suntrough Energy’s first California projects.
