EXPERIENCE

Straub Construction, Inc. Construction Quality Control Manager – 01/03/11 to Current

Received an Outstanding Performance Evaluation from the US Army Corps of Engineers in the Design and Construction for renovations to the Long Beach Veterans Administration Research Laboratory ($ 4 mil). The contract included tenant improvements throughout multiple areas of the facility, design and construction phase task to renovate laboratory spaces. The design discipline included Architectural, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical and HVAC. Trades included but are limited to demolition, carpentry, painting, plumbing, rigging, pipe fitting, mechanical, electrical and low voltage security. Additionally, the contract included installation of a new security surveillance system with a fiber optic routing plan, condensing unit, and an 80 ton chiller. The work was completed within an active functioning VA Research Lab requiring a high level of infection control measures and protection of all existing building systems and services. Recommended best value engineering design and construction of the 1 Gigabyte Security System Network Communication Infrastructures. Spearheaded successful commissioning of the New Emergency Power System, new Building Automation Control of the new 80 ton Emergency Chillers and chilled water base load connection to Central Plant. Generated substantial energy savings to the owner by connecting the new by-pass chilled water lines to the central plant earlier than scheduled.

Completed managing the Quality Control Plan of the Satellite Control Facility, VAFB, CA ($39.0 mil), checked plans, reviewed submittals & inspected delivered materials and worked performed whether conforming to the contract drawings and specifications, codes and standards such as: SCIF, NFPA, UL, IAPMO, UPC, UBC, UMC, UFC SMACNA, ASTM ANSI, AWS,ASHRAE, State, Federal & Military standards. Comprised project awards of more than forty Facility Management projects ($8.0mil total) in 2007. Projects involved renovation, repair, retrofit and build-out, rehabilitation, conversion and new construction. Promoted to QC Manager and managed Air Mobility Command Maintenance Control Complex, Andersen Air force Base, Guam, $ 2.75 Million. Built project according to the company’s goal for quality.
