Thesis: Effects of surface water accumulations from the 1991 flood on the groundwater hydraulics of the Sparta aquifer in north-central Louisiana. A 1465 square mile surface water model was created based on a region of influence regression model, the NRCS/SCS method, the USGS method and FEMA literature. The surface water model results were used as recharge for the groundwater model, which was constructed through the use of the C of E Groundwater Management System and MODFLOW software. Real-time surface water and groundwater observations were used to calibrate the predicted responses of the model. Plan design for urban and rural freeways, interchanges and local roadways. Designed and analyzed horizontal and vertical alignments, typical sections, earthwork, pavements, slope stabilities, open and closed storm drains, stream crossings, scour conditions, SW3P, bridge design, right-of-way determination, traffic control, permanent signing and striping, SUE, and produced all supporting documentation. For a time was also responsible for bridge inspection reports for concrete, steel and wood structures including fracture critical bridges. Supervised up to 26 employees.

Schematic design for all types of TxDOT highways. Designs included all geometry, right-of-way determination, preliminary drainage and the public involvement process.

Plan production included all geometry and earthwork, water lines, sanitary sewers including lift stations, site grading, box culvert and pavement structural design. Drainage design for ponds, stream crossings as well as open and closed storm drains.

NOTE: Was District Design Engineer, District Planning Engineer and Design Group leader in TxDOT Beaumont, Houston, Waco and Tyler Districts. Several supervisors have retired or are doing consulting work. The personnel offices at the Districts should be contacted for employment details and performance information. All reviews were very good.
