Dear Hiring Executive:

In these exciting times, are you in need of someone in a senior roll that has an in depth understanding of the intricacies of business; that can get behind the numbers and operations to find and achieve sustainable profitability?

I have helped maximize profitability and cash flow as a full-time executive, a consultant and as an investment/merchant banker to small and large businesses.

My expertise spans a wide range of specialties, including, overall financial and business leadership, financial/accounting reporting, balancing cost/revenue relationships, profit loss responsibility, development and implementing annual operating plans, business reviews with corporate executives, capital investment decisions, internal controls, risk mitigation, human resource planning, leading business unit finance, accounting, cost engineering, IT and administrative functions.

My accomplishments include many successful turnarounds, business expansions, upgrading financial reporting, use of flash reporting to measure results, managing due diligence, raising capital of up to $50M. Proven business development, sales acumen.

With titles that include; Business unit CFO/Financial Manager, Legal Liaison, Controller, President, Operations Manager, Interior Engineer, Superintendent, Laborer and Consultant I bring a unique vision of financial and operational synergy to any and all businesses and projects.

I manage complex operations implementing changes when necessary to reenergize struggling programs and companies. Reengineer financial and operating processes to maximize resources and profitability. I have installed superior controls to mitigate risk in declining or increasing markets, and possess a unique ability to continuously assess improvement opportunities and adjust when necessary.

In one instance, a professional service subcontractor; I recognized the market and profit potential with this insolvent organization. By creating a model for financial profitability and building a “best in class” operational team, I was able to secure funding and favorable debt repayment terms. In three years, an insolvent $3M company became a $15M revenue company with 10% EBITA.

In another instance a manufacturing die cutting business in consumer products; shipped world wide, needed complete turnaround: Reorganization of business operations and finance changed the company from a $1M loss to $50,000 profit in one year.

My credentials include an MBA and a BS in accounting both from the Rochester Institute of Technology. This; coupled with my experience managing mission-critical projects and teams, make me well equipped to step into any situation and have an immediate impact.

If your company could benefit from a young minded seasoned professional in a C level, financial/business management, or similar role, that has a proven track record of balancing costs and revenue to achieve maximum profitability, I would welcome your phone call to discuss the possibilities.

You can reach me by phone at 585-***-**** or email at ********@*****.*** . I look forward to speaking with you very soon.

Sincerely,

Paul Elli

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

With 25 years experience in operations, finance and business development I have saved companies millions of dollars. I am interested in an opportunity with a company that will leverage my expertise and experience to sustainably grow their business to the upper quartile of performance in their industry.

I have led day-to-day business operations, including strategic planning, business development, cost containment, finance and risk management, for both small and large companies in the manufacturing, distribution, service, construction and consulting industries. Assessing business risk and profitability, balancing cost and revenue relationships, I have executed business plans that ensured continuous/sustainable growth and profitability.

By identifying and executing solutions for strategic business projects and programs, I consistently drove operational efficiencies and cost improvements year after year. Key differentiators include:

• Turned struggling organizations into profitable entities

• Negotiated favorable debt restructuring and repayments

• Cut operating costs while maintaining human capital resources

• Facilitated relationship building to quash internal management struggles

• Executed business plans that ensure on-time and within budget project completions

I hold an MBA and BS in Accounting, both from Rochester Institute of Technology. Colleagues have described me as a hands-on leader who thrives in high-pressure situations. Accustomed to working with boards of directors, executive management and front-line staff, I communicate effectively with all levels of an organization.

SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Turned around failing companies:

• A struggling service business had an opportunity to become solvent and profitable. Created a financial profitability model and a “best in class” operational plan. Secured financing while negotiating vendor payment terms. Implementing the plan the company grew from $2M insolvency to $15M organization with 10% profits in less than 3 years.

• A manufacturing die cutting business sold consumer products and shipped worldwide. The reorganization of business operations, sales, marketing, product costing, packaging, shipping and financing changed the company from a $1M loss to $50,000 profit in one year.

Slashed operating costs. Corporate mandate to decrease overhead at Turner required major financial revamp. Worked with top-level managers to modify contract language, billing procedures and overhead expenses, allowing for additional general and administrative costs to be paid for with client reimbursements. Results; cut $300K in expenses while maintaining employment levels.

Secured Vital A/R recovery. Client refusal to pay final $900K billing made lawsuit inevitable. Worked with VP and GM, as well as engineering’s, accountants, field staff and attorneys to present strong argument for payment. Led to successful arbitration, resulting in collection of amount due.

Mitigated financial risk. Bottleneck in processing change orders was slowing construction of major Turner project. Liaised with contractors, construction manager and architects to process change requests and utilized accountants to audit costs of each. Improved cash flow while minimizing liabilities. Saved company $600K+ on change requests with one trade alone.
