Dedicated technical resource to Kraft Foods Corporation, $100MM annual sales. Central project manager for all new packaging projects, and cost savings tracking. Interact with 100+ Kraft packaging developers, 25+ box plants and 30+ customer plants.

Technical Service Manager, National Accounts Division (2006-2009)

Dedicated, on-site, technical resource to Sara Lee Corporation, $50MM annual sales. Responsible for all corrugated packaging projects from concept to production: structure and graphics, pricing, testing. Cost savings and packaging audits ($1.5MM/yr goal), quality issue resolution, specification management. Interact with 25+ box plants and 25+ customer plants, touching numerous functions within each.

TEMPLE-INLAND CORPORATION, Northlake, Illinois (1999 – 2005)

Responsible for all design activity for local and some national account business: industrial, institutional, mass merchandisers, and club store packaging, in support of two manufacturing facilities. Review and route all potential new business for maximum quality, productivity, and profitability, relying on extensive knowledge of production processes and ability to identify customer needs. Conduct packaging audits to identify potential cost savings. Hired, trained, and managed other designers; developed designer training program. Duties required the ability to work closely with customers, internal personnel, and vendors.

GAYLORD CONTAINER CORPORATION, Antioch, CA (1993 – 1999)

Structural Designer (‘95 –‘99)

Sole designer for a 950 MMSF/yr., integrated corrugated plant. Responsible for developing new and creative packaging solutions that improved plant profitability and met customer needs. Responsible for improving profitability of existing business through redesign that improved productivity and waste. Accomplished these through my ability to: learn or create new design concepts, rely on production, quality, and sales experience, and working closely with customers and vendors. Participant on plant improvement Project Teams. Customer mix was industrial, institutional, and some consumer.

Production Supervisor, Corrugator Department (‘93-‘95)

Managed two machine, twenty-eight person department. Responsibilities included supervising personnel, identifying maintenance issues, controlling material costs and waste, writing and revising procedures, procuring supplies. The department set production and waste records during this time.

JEFFERSON SMURFIT/ CONTAINER CORPORATION OF AMERICA, Los Angeles, Ca (1990-1993)

MURNANE PACKAGING CORPORATION, Northlake, IL (1985-88)

Sale Representative: Responsibilities included, establishing new accounts and maintaining current accounts throughout the Midwest. Designed and developed new packaging applications. Also worked the customer service desk for the first six months of employment. Murnane is a paperboard converter, specializing in die cutting, flexographic printing and narrow roll-stock slitting.
