Production Supervisor 2000 – 2002

Supervised up to 20 skilled union employees. Responsible for daily safety, production and quality control, housekeeping, and scheduling.

• Saved approximately 3000 pounds of raw material and 4 hours changeover downtime through innovative corrective action. This allowed paper machine to run 72 consecutive hours for a new plant record for that troublesome grade.

Machine Tender Supervisor 1999 – 2000

Operated paper machine and lead union crew of 7 without supervision on midnight shift. Successfully met customers’ SPC, ISO certified specifications. Responsible for decisions regarding downtime, maintenance, safety, housekeeping and quality control.

• Resolved 20% paper rejection problem for large clients by raising the resin solids and slowing down machine so ovens could keep up with curing process. Paper ran well for customer on all future shipments.

• Increased paper machine production by 10% by turning down steam shower pressure over vacuum box when trained to turn up pressure. Recognized by management for innovative thinking.
