TaskStream, NYC, NY 11/07 – Present

Application Development Manager

TaskStream is a SaaS provider of educational tools that focus on online course delivery, student assessment, and accreditation. The development team consists of eight ASP and .NET developers, three business analysts, three QA Analysts, and two graphic designers. TaskStream delivers two major software releases per year including multiple small releases.

* Responsible for overall project management of all TaskStream software launches through the full SDLC

* Introduced a new product development project plan that improved visibility of resource gaps and consolidated project documentation from multiple sources into one artifact.

* Responsible for resource management for the entire product development team, including analyzing resource gaps, obtaining development estimates, and hiring new team members. The team has grown from 7 to 20 total resources since 2007.

* Develop detailed business and functional specifications and working prototypes of new software features using Axure’s specification development software.

* Created a new requirements gathering process that reduced overall specification development time and decreased the overall defect count for each feature by adding functional use cases to our existing wireframe based visual specifications.

* Manage day to day activities and conduct performance evaluations for of the Quality Assurance group and Product Managers.

* Introduced new QA tools for integrated bug tracking and test script management including evaluating software vendors, writing the selection proposal, and negotiating the contract terms. Overall test case development and execution was nearly cut in half.

* Acted as product manager for all external integration software tools including silent authentication, external API’s, and transaction based web services. This included writing new sales literature in order to reduce the mystery of our API and web services for our sales team and non-technical end users.

* Lead all client integration projects including writing detailed SOW’s, gathering requirements, and managing the project timeline while monitoring impacts to the overall product launch.

* Reviewed customer RFP's and provided technical assessment responses. Also responsible for building demo environments for all integration products.

* Directly managed all external vendors for integrated software, outsourced development projects, and departmental tools while reducing overall maintenance costs.

eScholar LLC, White Plains, NY 10/05 – 11/07

Product Manager

eScholar is an educational data warehouse provider for K-12 School Districts and States. I had a dual role at eScholar. I was an implementation project manager for all eScholar products at the Georgia State Department of Education and product manager for eScholar’s eDM tool. eDM is a web based tool that allows remote users to upload large data files and run ETL processes in order to populate a data warehouse. The eDM team consisted of three Java developers, one business analyst, and one QA analyst.

* Responsible for all phases of implementing eScholar’s educational data warehouses for the Georgia State Department of Education in order to meet AYP or "No Child Left Behind" requirements.

* Responsible for all aspects of software development for the eScholar Data Manager application.

* Manage day to day activities and conduct performance evaluations and quarterly reviews for technical team

* Translated all client requested software enhancements into use cases and requirement documents and reviews with the Development team for prioritization.

* Responsible for all software documentation including user guides, administration guides and release notes.

* Work with Client integration teams in order to gather requirements, complete data mapping, test with pilot school districts and conduct user acceptance testing.

* Support the sales team with RFP proposals, product demonstrations and presenting at user/technical conferences

* Research and support client technical issues on multiple database platforms and applications including SQL Server, Oracle 9i, Oracle 10g (RAC), Sagent ETL Tool, JBoss application server and Oracle application server.

Allegient Systems, Wilton, CT 12/03 – 10/2005

Manager of Business Analysis

Allegient Systems is a SaaS provider whose main focus is processing legal billing for insurances claims and reducing legal fees based on business rules defined by the client. The product development team contained two business analysts, five Java developers, two QA Analysts, and a business intelligence analyst. Software releases were performed two to three times per year.

* Project Manager for all enhancements to the Allegient System litigation management software overseeing the development team for each software release.

* Report project statuses weekly to senior management in order to prioritize client needs and internal architectural changes

* Direct the creation of business requirements documents by working closely with the business users and determining the business need for developing new capabilities and enhancing existing functionality.

* Collaborate with the quality assurance, development and business analysis teams on the creation of functional requirements and use cases.

* Act as quality assurance manager which entailed reviewing test plans, scheduling software release resources and performing QA validation at time of deployment.

* Coordinated user acceptance testing with power users prior to product launch in order to receive user experience feedback.

* Support client’s business intelligence reporting needs by creating Hyperion Analyzer views and relational reports using Hyperion Intelligence (Brio)

* Project Manager for a team initiative to integrate Hyperion Intelligence reporting tool (Brio) with Allegient Systems’ business to business web site including building a data repository, transformation of production data and building end user reports within 4 months.

* Created and implemented Allegient's Systems development and release process, including documenting workflow and designing all specification templates.

Protégent was a startup company that provided a web software product for brokerage compliance agencies and financial services companies. My role was specifically for software implementations at client sites.

* Managed implementations of web-based analytical software at financial services companies through the Systems Development Life Cycle.

* Created documentation for requirements gathering, including a new data mapping document that significantly decreased the software implementation and data validation time frame.

* Participated in data mapping sessions for multiple financial back office systems including Pershing, Bear Stearns, Fiserv and BETA.

* Directed daily data validation and testing sessions with software end users, including publishing bug reports and troubleshooting complex data problems.

Peco Energy, Philadelphia, PA 6/99 – 4/02

Senior Business Analyst

Peco Energy is a large utility based in Philadelphia, PA. My role was to manage multiple various projects utilizing different technologies across the organization.
