Save Mart – Modesto, CA - April 2008 – Present
Responsible for analyzing VMware current setup for 3 ESX Virtual Servers and make recommendations to correct performance issues. After analysis, made necessary changes to fix major performance issues and mis-configuration. Also, responsible for setup of 3 new ESX Servers and configuration, analysis of existing Physical servers to determine which servers are most appropriate for virtualization. Make recommendations on SAN storage (IBM 4300 SAN) options relating to VMware. Recommend and purchase PlateSpin Utility to move Virtual Servers back to Physical Servers so that they could be properly re-virtualized.
Galaxy Solutions – December 2007 – Present
Galaxy Solutions is a Nationwide supplier of Technical Support for everything from Networking Services (replacing a Server Hard Drive) to exchanging POS (Point of Sale) Terminals for various Companies. They usually call me if the call is within a reasonable driving distance and most calls are anywhere from 1-2 hours to 1 day in length.
Old Republic Title Company – Roseville, CA – March 2007 – May 2007.
Responsible for VMware 3.x, Virtual Center 2.0 re-configuration. Moved VMware ESX Servers utilizing iSCSI from old IDE LUN on EMC Celera NAS to New Fiber connected LUN. Reset Linux Password on all ESX Servers, reconfigured all ESX Servers & Virtual Machines. Setup DRS (Distributed Resource Scheduling and HA (High Availability) for all ESX Servers to allow for failover in case of a catastrophic hardware failure. Also, reconfigured ESX Servers to increase performance on Citrix Servers. Setup email notification to report alarms.
Also, worked on ISA Proxy Server with SurfControl. Reconfigured SurfControl on 1 Server, and installed SurfControl on the 2nd Server. Verified operability and the ability to receive reports and email. Original Contract was renewed to work on ISA Servers after successful completion of VMware changes.
Mervyns – Hayward, CA – Technical Architect/Project Manager – January 2006 – October 2006
Responsibilities include handling all software and hardware requests, providing technical direction for all IT requests including all Data Center operations and equipment. Project Managed up to 30 projects at any one time including all Servers (approx. 140 Server including Blackberry Servers, Exchange, DNS, Active Directory, etc.). Have saved the Company over $1 million since starting in January, 2006. This includes the virtualization of 70 Servers using VM Ware for a Cost Avoidance of approximately $700K. Was promoted to Temporary Acting Manager of Technical Architecture for 2 months.
